It'll be worth it if u urself will be ther to witness the mech puttin in "Yamaha Genuine Parts" into ur Z...

Yeah! And also just learn somethin vital from him too!!! Hee...

True wat u said abt Z's engines last forever(For god sakes, I'm having a Z which is 1 yr younger than me and I think it covers double or more distance than ur Z!) . However, I do believe u know tat not all moving parts would last forever, be it original or not. And it's those small things which sucks up abit here and there of our fuel. So not only do we wan tat unwanted wastage, once in awhile we'd like to experience how a new engine feels like!

But yeah, if no money also no point. Like me, hav to live wif a Z wif very strong vibs from the block/engine parts, a crooked fork and tyres....... Haiz...:slapforehead:

Actually bro, all Z's engine are all made by the Japs...

Dear friend, i'll have to quote you here :)

How many kilometers on your Z, and which year is it? I am just interested.... mine is year 1994 and shows 80,360 kilometers, when i got it there was 41,000 and that was 2 years ago.... but there was no speedmeter cable, and by the look of the bleached numbers, it must have stood still at 41,000 for at least a year while they still drove every day. Thai people usually don't do maintenance, only fix if something breaks down, and then also only important parts such as engine. So i can not say how many kilometers my engine REALLY has, it may well be 180,360 already.... but for me, i've done close to 40,000 in two years myself, and i keep driving every day, except for today and tomorrow - because those days i drive ANOTHER RXZ which i got for my work colleague and doing little works on it, because it, too, is from a Thai guy and not very well maintained, many little things to fix. It has 83,000 kilometers on the meter and runs like a new bike still :)

And no, NOT all RXZ's engines are from Japan.... because EVERY RXZ that's ever been sold in Thailand was indeed "Made in Thailand", including the two which are standing in my parking spot right now :) That includes the engines and all parts inside the engines. But nowadays the few genuine spare parts which are still available (and very expensive!) are coming from Japan, my new piston which i got a couple of days ago is genuine Yamaha, "Made in Japan", and it replaces a genuine Yamaha "Made in Thailand".

Sadly tomorrow i'll have to let the red one go as it's for my colleague.... but i already arranged with him, he'll need it for a few months only - and then it'll come back to me for my racing project :)

With kind regards.....

Hi!

Abt my Z, it is registered here in Spore on the 6th Nov 1985. It's manufacturing date only quoted the year, which is 1985. So yeah. Abt the distance it covers, I don't really manage to catch the numbers on the meter the first time I got my bike. Cause I'm just a newbie over-excited abt his new bike tat point of time, so didn't notice tat tiny detail on my bike. Only knowing tat it looks kinda old for someone like me to ride it. Haha... But anyway, it covers lots of riding wif me over a couple of months (I remember it reverting back to all "0"s)before the original meter broke down and soon was replaced by a China-made meter. Then rode wif it for another couple of months before I get my hand on a 2nd hand original meter. It was already reset to "0"s but till now I haven't got a chance to see the mileage though...

And those big numbers on the meter still doesn't fancy me much. Only the one to show my full tank fuel mileage and can be reset and of course the RPM and Speedometer!!! Haha...

Btw, nice reds...

maybe better feeling with brand new virgin parts when riding.

the other reason we don want to hassle ourself to get it done when only its damage. so when we strip our engine might as well replace the parts that are important cos for me i would never want myself to experience conrod and piston flying out from my block... hahaha

Same feeling as me cos I did not want to take risk and end up with buying new engine instead of engine parts..... Bro, Do u think S$320 is worth for the overhaul in SG?

I don't think it'll take us 3-4hrs bro. Or did u get urself confused somehow? I think estimated time (inclusive of rest stop) to reach our destination would take us 6-8hrs max. All depend on how much time we took for our rest and our constant speed. Last time I drove up to Malacca took us more than 4hrs of non-stop driving and 1 time refuelin. Driving up to Ayer Keruh A&W took us ard 3hrs to reach there. So yeah, it'll be quite a distance and time consumin ride(I hope ur done wif ur running in bro.) which also gonna be very challengin, physically & mentally. :faint:

So anyone up to the challenge? I dare u to put down ur name on the list and we'll be making history in the RXZ Lover's page... Insya-Allah...:cheer:

i think its worth it if your mechanic really do it properly.

coz its a difficult life in spore. everything also ex.

so some mech may go to the extreme to cheat. but if you havee that trust for your mech, then thats gooood.

btw im not trying to flame the mechs in spore, coz some of them can really really be trusted, heck my own uncle is a bike mech. hehe. =P :faint:

my running in 2 weeks already. i plan after change engine oil maybe want to run in a little bit more. the other thing u can develop new skill with your ears at the same time during running in. with the help of my ears i can actually listen when it goes to rpm 4 and change the gears.
