Hi :)

@Syamitomo

What was wrong with the Thai-made carb? Mine are Thai-made too but nevertheless genuine Mikuni..... in fact my whole bikes are made in Thailand, except the block on Bulldozer and some parts that i got from SG :)

Right now i have trouble with the tail light, last week my battery died (yet again, it would be the 6th or so battery to die in just over 3 years) and when it died the voltage in the system spiked up to 24 Volts, killing some of the LED's in my tail light. Now i have to build a new one and am waiting for the LED's to arrive from Hong Kong (E-Bay). Another item unavailable in Thailand..... ultra-bright LED's. The new tail light will include a voltage regulator of it's own and spike protection - as it can be taken as granted that the new battery will be dead again in just over six months ("six months warranty" means "we guarantee that it will be broken in just a little over six months").

Bulldozer is now heading for 94,000 kilometers on the clock, as soon as i happen to have some spare money i will get a brand new Catalyzer meter set from SG.... once mine reaches 000000 again it will be changed :) I plan to also have the engine completely overhauled at that stage, maybe new block liner and back to stock cc but keep the porting, it is a Y2 block after all.... or maybe just new liner and immediately re-bore to RXK size again but 00 oversize.... don't know yet. I can still bore up further now, it is at 1.50 and two more available but there is a noise that gets worse with larger oversize (piston knocking) and i don't like it. But i sure like the power from 150 cc :)

Destiny is parking in the underground parking lot, well covered to protect from dust... i ride her about every other weekend to keep the battery charged. She runs nicely too, not as fast as Bulldozer but she looks practically new, at least from a bit further away..... looks faster than she is, with Bulldozer that is reversed.

I am still planning to have a third RXZ at some stage, modified into an offroad bike or enduro... and also get Destiny's engine up to speed too, however money is not available now, high monthly costs for me :) Car payments etc......

Kind regards.....

Hahaha... So u notice too huh? How's the progress of ur bike so far? I finally found my 2 original "Made in Japan" carbs in my stash of RXZ & mountain bike stuff; one of em wif loose fuel inlet while the other one a loose choke, . SO I transfer the still "OK" choke to the other carb, put in 210 main jet, a 27.5 pilot jet and VOILA, a one piece workable carb to replace my Thai made carb. Hehe... Change from my sport rims to my chrome spoke rim, install a mtb speedometer on my bike and hmmmm... Thinking of changing my coverset if I get my bonus! Hehe...

Speakin of which, to those skoolboys riding a Z, me giving away a piece of 18" Dunlop TT900, 80/80. FOR FREE!!! Yes. Still hav plenty of life, just need to take it from my house and install it. Interested parties can PM me...:thumb:

To my fellow rxz riders, I've got a givi e35 box and rack for rxz only for sale. Box condition 9/10. Only during ramadan I use the box. The rest of the year it's sleeping. Would like to sell away that combination for only $60. Thank you!

Bro...is it still on sale??...thought of grabbing it

hi guys. my headlight bulb juz blown. may i know how much a new one will cost (with installation by mech)....or is it simple enuff to DIY...newbie here...thx =)

$2-$5 depends on shops. diy very easy, bulb can get around $2-$5. but you need to know the voltage ratings.

Hi :)

hi Thanh, how do you invent your led taillight? care to share? :thumb:

Hi :)

No problem to share that.... i am following loosely the schematics in the first picture, however i double the number of white LED's for license plate illumination and also now in the new one i have added two separate voltage regulators (for tail light circuit and brake light circuit, each one with a diode for back-current-protection) and in my test i found that even supplying it with 30 Volts does no damage, the LED's are supplied with rock-stable 11.5 Volts.

Of course my version is "more difficult than necessary" (specially with all the additional circuitry on a second, removable, board) however i have mine glued into the cover of a Japan-type tail light in such a way that it can only be removed by destruction..... and i want it to last for ever and not be taken out again when the next battery dies. And i need to glue it in there in such a way because i am doing 300 kilometers per week on some of the worst roads one can imagine.... Bangkok's Sukhumvit for example, one pothole after another..... without making it "bomb proof" with a pound of hot glue it would be breaking apart in a matter of days. Only the daughter board can be removed and fixed if required.

The good thing with LED's and this kind of prototype or experiment PCB boards is that you can put them into any shape that you like.... mine is for the Japan-type and hence a simple rectangle, however i have built my tail indicators just the same way and those are triangle shaped :) My meter illumination follows the same plan (all-white LED's) too.

Kind regards.....

Thanh

PS one 47 Ohms resistor (the one between the two diodes) has to be replaced by a 2 watts version! Alternative you can also use 68 Ohms.

This is the setup for rear indicators for Japan-type RXZ. Please note that in reality these are a lot brighter than appears, it is because the camera automatically adjusted to brightness.....

Also please not that, in order to run LED indicators, you MUST use an electronic relay. I built mine myself, too, following the schematics in that first picture :)

Hey guys!wanna ask u all sumting...why my rxz response a bit slow?

there could be a certain reason why your response is slow.

1) weak compression at the block and piston.

2) throttle cable need to be adjusted to get the correct sensitivity.

3) the last one will be the setting of your needle at the carb.

Aiyoyo. Nvm lah. If ppl chope already then should find a new one lah. Wakaka. Anyway was thinking of changing to sotong uh. But for dispatch and long distance travelling... -Any pros and cons there? eg like wear and tear when compared to other tyres...
