I doubt there is any. Activities like the recent one fm PML for roadster at PG are one of the fews to attend and meet other S1K owners.

Beside saving on weight (not much), the approved arka is for the shoty and not the full system. I kinda dont think there is any perf increase using the shorty.

 

The stock exhaust has a very pretty throaty sound as well.

 

Are you getting a new S1K or resale?

Mine is the 2015 sports model with DCC.Got it from a direct owner.Noticed that half tank can only travel about 100km,is it normal for you guys as well?

Your model is the same as mine then. Yes this is a guzzler machine. In my opinion the FC is not impressive at all. My full tank gets me 160km to 170km. I think this is one reason why owner give up on this bike despite its cutting edge technology engine and electronics. Also the idle timing at 1250rpm which is deemed mormal may be a high contributing factor.

Oh i see,what grade of fuel are you using?any difference between 95 and 98?

I just pumped petrol for bike when there was 3 bars left and could only squeeze in about 8litres plus.The reserve tank is quite big i guess.

I use 95 since day 1. Never tried 98. When the computer tells me i can travel for remaining 50km thats when i go to yhe pump station however the computer tripmeter will alert you when it determines you have fuel left to travel approx remaining 70km.

By the way did you change out your stock mirrors?They are crap,cant see anything above 80km/h.

No i didn't change the stock mirrors. Yes the mirrors (esp the left side) tends to vibrate more at 4-5k rpm. Not sure if changing to a heavier one makes any diff.

Anyway bro,where else can we go for servicing/maintenance of our bikes other then PML?Any other workshop to recommend? Also,am trying to adjust my preload and damping but really got no clue how to do it,do you know of any workshop that does it? Went to PML and they dont do it.

Most PI shops that sell S1K can do it. Some like Looi will not if the bike is not purchased from them.

 

If yours has the DDC then the 3 modes should be enough isn't it? I don't recall its possible to do any manual adjustment.

If the bike is fm PML and is a 2014 model, high chance it would under gone the factory recall at PML to fix the clutch and valve issues that causes the engine to stall while moving.

 

If its fm PI and a 2014 model, something to look out for.

Yes mine has DCC but the original preload and damping out of the factory is set for 85kg. I am 63kg so its a little too hard for me.

Take a look at the manual page 76. But will need another two person to help out if wana adjust.

I ride SOFT most of the time actually but if you are really affected by it perhaps make a visit PML and ask David abt it

Mine is registered is 2015. How do u actually tell if its 2014 or a 2015 model? I try to read up online it doesnt show anything. And yeah.. i juz texted primero racing there isnt any approved akrapovic exhaust for the bmw s1000r

2014 model was only RACING RED, LIGHT WHITE OR FROZEN DARK BLUE. I believe the 2015 models INCLUDES the BLACK STORM and also they may NOT have the stalling issue.

Collected mine a few days back.. my goodness the pick up is crazy.. alot of fun.. my gf seriously hate the bike.. the pillion seat sucks and every small little bump she cn feel.. hahaha..

I hv to change my suspension setting to HARD if i hv a pillion rider else will exhaust bottom will fail hump at my place. Lol.
