The speed camera have a certain accuracy and needs to be calibrated often just like any instrument. the usual practice in many countries, this accuracy allowance is plus/minus 10 to 20km/hr. this accuracy will worsen in cloudy condition/fog/rain and so on. (basically the amt of light). I know people in australia sometimes can successfully appeal their speeding offence if they can show evidence that day weather is bad in that area. think sg practise is abt -/+ 20km/hr and i think it is hard to appeal in singapore cos sg roads are so brightly lit.

but my uncle got once caught in my'sia for doin 72km/h when the speed limit is 70km/hr. but he just paid the fine cos that period of time a lot of these issues. our northern neighbours....

Hi guys,

Just ride passed this mobile speed cam at one of the overhead bridge in SG.

Got some points that I need to ask and hopefully can get my answers in SBF.

1 ) The mobile speed cam works like a camera ? or videocam ? meaning does the TP officer need to press the shutter to take the picture (in the case of a camera) or can he just push record and video all the sequences (like a videocam)?

Was picking up to about 80km on a 60-70 km 3-laned road.

My actual speed should be about 10km less than whats shown on my speedo (heard from friends that class 2B speedo not as accurate compared to 2/2A).

Anyway the officer was beside the cam (not behind), he was bending over to do something.

So anyone can share on how the thingy works ?

thanks in advance!

If your speed (10km) is more than the road speed limit nothing will happen to you.

And as for speedo.. Is not that 2B speedo not accurate, just that 2B bike dun have digital speedo.
