Hi all,

I am on my way getting a dirt-bike this year, but I struggle to find PSB approved good quality off-road helmets in Singapore.

I need a helmet for both road usage (Monday to Friday) and Offroad (week-end), so I target composite materials like Kevlar and carbon. I feel plastic based helmets are a bit weak for road crashes.

I saw some AGV helmets in Racing World and their retailer in Jalan Besar, but only one model is from high quality.

I also saw amazing Airoh helmets, but unfortunately non PSB certified.

Lately, I visited the Fox shop in Ubi, and seems that they have a huge collection of high quality offroad helmets. All non PSB certified, but the salesman told me that because they are all DOT (USA) certified, I can convert it and get a PSB sticker from the LTA for around 50$.

I checked everywhere, including driving schools and traffic police, but no one seems to know about it...

So, two questions:

1/ Where to get good quality off-road helmets (carbon, composite fiber, kevlar, etc.) PSB approved in Singapore?

2/ How to get a PSB sticker if I buy a DOT approved helmet?

Given the high price of these helmets (500 to 700) I prefer to seek some advice.

Thanks to all who have a clue of an answer,

Cheers,

Fred

The Traffic Police from CDG driving school told me that I can go to the LTA and that I can maybe get a PSB sticker if they approve my helmet, but this in a case by case. I will go later this week and check with them

Alright, apparently final answer is no conversion of PSB possible.

I called the Traffic Police, the LTA, and the PSB certification department and they all told be that it is not possible to obtain a PSB sticker without to do the destructive test on the helmet and they need min 4 samples to destroy. So, your helmet can have all the best certifications in the world, they won't convert it to PSB without destroying 4 of them... , which means it's only for distributors.

I have spent 9 phone calls and half a day to get all these people over the phone so believe this is a final answer. However if anyone knows about a way, please let me know...

Regarding the high quality off-road helmets, I found the AGV composite material so far... and cost around 700$ at Racing World.

Anyone else knows about other options, maybe with Arai? Shoei?

With Airoh and Fox non certified... I do not know what other brand I can find...
