Of course, it's possible to do this trip in 1 day. I rode from JB to Kota Bahru (800km) in 1 day many times before.

But for inexperienced riders and especially if you're riding a small bike, please be careful. Safe overtaking and fatigue may be your biggest challenge.

But, what the heck? Just do it!!

I too had ridden to Genting and back in one day on a scooter too. Cruising at around 120 kph on highway and lower speed on truck road.

It is a good exerise to train up, so that touring to Thailand could be achievable. The bike can take it but can your butt take it? You never know if you do not try.

If I am not involve in NDP(got free tickets) I would gladly join you guys.

Ride safe and enjoy yourself.

bro, starting from gp travel to yong peng cut off is 100km highway. then trunk road to labis. The roads are repaired and good. Segamat to kuantan road is straight and nice. no cornering like rossi. Just open eye big big. Then hit kuantan, use highway around more than 50km highway then short distance to kemaman. Wat's the porblem? total is 413 + 413 = 826km niah!:faint: If travel constant 110km/hr takes only 8 hrs. Now we take 12 hrs means petrol and rest 4 hrs how not to make it huh? I over 50 liao still can why not the rest?:( Just like Dahun said: so many have made it why not try?:thumb:

Uncle Barn, will you lead us one more time, will be more confidence to follow you and enjoy the ride......:cheeky:

If there are less than 10 pax, a cheaper (not un-comfy) alternative is to look for the traditional "beach resort bungalow".

1. Direct sea view

2. Bikes visual distance

3. A Row of pubs n food

Couple room is abt 40RM/night. Gigantic room is abt 100RM/night. Squeeze as many as you can but we have 5 pax it with alota space.

I really cannot remember what is the name, but no prior booking either. Distance is about 420km from GP esso, approximately 200km from Rompin Petronas.

If you travel down from North it is past clud meb, followed by a left turn to see the "beach side" huts. If you travel up from south and you see club med, you would have overshot. Sorry for not being detailed.. but its an alternative for a "non commercialized" get away.

This is how the place look like. (Kindly click on TBR part 2. TBR part 1 only got the other 2000km+ rubbish..no Cherating.)

.... Use the Mersing-Pekan route instead of the Segamat or NSH-Karak route.

I mean, c'mon, we're all bikers here. You will enjoy Mersing route better. You can stop for breakfast at the Mersing jetty (to Tioman)......

No offence to any riders who prefer NSHS, but I agree with KISS. Travelling on B-roads via eastern Malaysia is very fulfilling if you take it easy. Further up Cherating towards Kota Bahru is even a much rewarding ride...right beside the sea... and the water is blue in color!

Its really breezy. Its probably the "closest" to the GOR in aussie

Shaun had to pull out last minute. Engine issues which are not resolved yet. Not good idea to do a long trip for his Hornet at this point in time.

YEAH!!! WOOHOO! My 1st full day trip to Malaysia, and it ROCKED! I think the biggest adrenaline rush for me was riding at nite, at the kind of speeds we went at. Good training for a 1st timer.

Must really thank Uncle Barne, n not to forget Auntie Anne, and Dahun of course. Meet old friends, n make new ones too. Time to modify my AT before next trip. So we all target Tri-Nation ride ya?

Posted

A great trip that unable to describe.

Thank for Uncle Barne & Dahun for leading the trip and invite for the Tri-nation charity ride. Will try to arrange my schedule then update your.

And also thank all the rider & pillion for this trip.:dozed:
