This bike is what a lot of us need.

 

Engine wise: Single cylinder, air-cooled, Single overhead camshaft, 2 valves...maintenance costs and ease will easily be a fraction of a super 4. Can use cheaper engine oil (but change more frequently only) and no coolant to leak or give problems.

 

Kick-starter..no need worry about flat battery.

 

Yes, not so powerful but enough torque and power for 90% of Singapore's roads and streets.

 

It's a shame COE is at 4k now, if not I will definitely look into buying one. As a student, this bike would be affordable to run and use on a daily basis.

 

Anyone has a rough price quote on machine price (exc. COE)??

Yikes, means it would be approx. 16k OTR.

 

Ain't too bad, but it's sickening that 4k goes to gov pockets. Bike could very well be 12k OTR..

 

BUT the bike looks fantastic. Bet it would look better in real life!!

Just scrap the 1993 125 version last year...great to hear that there is 400cc coming in. If the otr can be around 10k...it would definately be a tempted buy. Cross our fingers for a lower coe...

Problem is that it's not exactly that cheap. It's abt 15k from yamaha without insurance. So unless one is a big retro lover, it is quite pricey for the tech it comes with

the market for this bike is soooooooo small, although i think most cafe riders should seriously switch to this bike now,

i have seen a few cafe racers, including one at my mscp, they look so dilapidated that i can't help but think that the bike is like some old dude surviving on tubes
