5 hours to get to Cameron? 5 hours to reach base of Cameron is more likely. It will take about an hour to ascend, depending on traffic. Best time to ascend is around 6am, as the sun rises.

Any advice on driving car up? First time going to thailand

 

18 - Move off. Will stop at cameron highland for one night

19 - Move off. Head to Phuket

20 - Phuket

21 - Phuket

22 - Come back to SG

 

Lastly can anyone direct me any site that provides free download of Thailand map to Garmin Nuvis and Zumos?

Zumos series are 500, 550 and 660

 

500 - Basic package with bike mounting (without car mount). Quite rare in SG already. i am using it now

 

550 - Complete package with bike and car mounting. SGD 1200

 

660 - Complete package with bike and car mounting. SGD 999. Maybe can cheong SGD 950.

 

I was expecting to pay about 5-699 for a gps. now based on this price.. I can go sleep... no need buy already. any other alternative gps?

Now T-REX 14RR can consider lo.. check the price out USD 51k for 14R, USD 56k for 14RR. Bring in to SG, the pricing will be hell. Sigh... no need dream liao....

Bro, that is a hell of a drive for not much time spent in Phuket.

Count 15 to 16 hours non stop if you want to do it one shot or spread across 2 days. That would leave you with only one day in Phuket.

Then hotel wise you will be in the peak seasons of Phuket, so hotel rates will not be cheap. And the rainy seasons in Eastern Malaysia and Hat Yai might give you a difficult drive...

 

Drive to Penang from Cameron instead you are on the other side and you are more likely to have OK weather and then less drive, hence more time to relax.

My answer is probably a bit bias, but numbers of problems and faulty units with Bazaaz in the US, Ohayo's bike has been stranded for days due to problems with his, at least it is still under warranty.

 

Then price wise, PC5 is far cheaper than Bazaaz and you have optional accessories such as the Auto Tune (wideband commander) to regulate your AFR in conjunction with the PC5 unit.

 

Unit is very small.

 

But final decision is yours to make...

With the zumo 660 out in the market there should be lots of reasonable new 2nd hand zumo 550 units.

Today I finally completed the re-wiring of all my accessories, radio, gps, tpx and air horn, through a fuse box, it is made in the USA, not cheap but a hell of a quality product.

Basically, the box goes to the Hot 12 DC of the battery along with ground and a 12+ lead to accessories bullet lead.

Then all devices (max 6) are directly wired to the fuse box with each individual built-in relay and fuses, you decide the amperage based on your device and then if you want it to switch off or not with the ignition key. That way you never chance to run the battery dry if you forget to turn off your devices.

So if there is problem, no need to go down to the battery just go to the box and change the fuse.

It is a hell of a job, but well worth it and I highly recommend it to whoever wants to clean all the wires to the battery and have a secure and safe electrical system.

Unit is very small so it fits in our glove box, which i insulated from the engine heat.
