Anyone know anything about manufacturer recalls on the 1400 GTR? I know there is supposed to be one on the brake pedal and I heard there is one on the panniers too which I'm more concened about - don't want them to fly off!

Anyone had it done?

The panniers had been resolved for 2009 models.... You need to call evershine for the brake pedal issue.

Bro, in that case you can order the nut without the ball. USD 29.95 ah. cheaper le... Goona do your shopping on other site carefully as you have to make sure the nut suits the bike and ball. Since you are going to remove the stock nut and replace with new nut

Yup ordered the lock nut only without the base with ball. It took about 2 week to arrive.

The down side about this for the GTR, you need to use the long arm for your GPS as the heat of the GTR actually fogs out my unit when I used the medium or short arm. Other than that everything's ok.

Posted

oh, thats fine, cause I have the long arm already.

I see u have your pwr cable ziptied to your brake cables also.

When u dont have the gps attached, do u secure the loose end?

Things to take note for GPS on GTR

1. If you put the GPS on the centre of the handle where stem nut is. Take note of the heat. More than often my GPS gets superb hot when i am not travelling on NS Highway. Garmin zumos 500 series rocks. Seem that its able to withstand heat well! be sure you can those that can tahan heat. If not..........

2. On the other hand, its very secure because i am using Project D universal mount

http://projektd.com/product_info.php?products_id=64

My gps bracket is screwed tightly on the universal mount. So i only need to worry about my GPS getting stolen instead.

3. Stop bike - only need to remove GPS

I think the cramp on type are those that eat around the handle bar? I thought of it before but i gave up finding. Because our handle bar is not straight and in tapered design. Quite harda to tie around

Bro, my one not fast bag brand.

Mine is for Corbin. Its called smuggler box. In my instance, my wife cannot share seat with me because her legs cannot touch the pillion foot pedal ah.

my garmin gets warm in direct sunlight after 2hrs or so.

do u mean the heat from the bike?

the long arm keeps the gps abt 15cm off the stem, so I guess it wont be affected much.

comes with a cradle, just snap off to remove gps.

looks neater than the project d one but cost more.

Warm?......hmmmm...our feel to warmth may differs. Mine was more than warmth because you could feel the heat around the back of the garmin near to the power connection.

I used to fix it on my handle bar area. I stopped because i hated to carry the cradle plus gps around. Not really light, you know and it take up storage place in the bike too.

Whenever i need to use or remove. Very troublesome to fix the cradle onto the bike. Tighten etc etc.

Now i just bring garmin along. Snap on and off. One easy motion.

Hahah..I just plain lazy.
