H. I just saw today the GTR1400 in identical colour to the 2008 ZZR14's Midnight Blue.

Heard one of the other 2 colours coming in is silver.

Externally, there doesn't seem to be any physical changes other than the colour.

For some of you making comparisons with the FJR and other tourers, maybe see sportriders article http://www.sportrider.com/features/146_0806_2008_bmw_k1200gt_kawasaki_concours_14_yamaha_fjr1300a/index.html

ure referring to the new v-max i assume?

heard abit on its torquey nature!

looking fwd to seeing on the road!

are u thinking of swapping yr kawa for that? :thumb:

Not just yet. But sometimes I really hate winding on the throttle and waiting for the powerband to kick in. The 14 is not really 'fast' till around 6000rpms, where the bike is already doing like 70, in 1st.

Dude, u got to be kidding.

the 14 is not fast till 6000rpm?!?!:giddy:

the torque u get at the lower rpms is prob alot more than some class 2 bikes at near redline.

sigh.....guess with torque and hp, there is no such thing as enough right?

if the c14 is such a hard gem to come by, i might consider the zx14.

considering factors are that it comes chain driven and the lack of boxes :(

will drop by looi and speedway tmrw to see when the next shipment arrives.

is changing to fully syn at 4k pretty late?? o_O

10-50w is good

i find the bike runs slightly cooler than compares to 15w-40

did the manual recommend 6k change to fully syn?

i find, once run in, best to quickly change to fully syn to minimise wear.

mineral is for helping to run in periods........no? :dot:

I am not kidding, the ZX14 is quite tame below 6000rpms (mine is de-restricted already). When stock, its much worse, those with TRE will know what I mean. And above that rpm, the bike is already moving too fast to have any fun at all.

Hi NEO, you cannot really compare the GTR 1400 and your bike.

Yours is the fastest racing bike on the market, although at low torque the Hayabusa is faster, ours is a versatile between touring and racing.

ZZR1400 is 70kg lighter and 40HP more but only 1.2 sec faster from 0 to 400m than the GTR.

You said in an earlier post than the GTR cannot corner low, yes it can, you said than it has a low speed below 6000 RPM, it does not, great torque at 3000 rpm.

Then you added side paniers on yours.

Do you somewhat regret not having bought a 1400GTR???

If you ride a GTR or ZZR 1400 we want to hear from you at www.kawa1400.blogspot.com

Yes, I do somewhat regret not getting the GTR. :D The ZX14 may be one of the fastest bike in the world on paper, but in reality the power is so far up the rpm range its not really useful. Most of the time is spent between 3000-4000rpms, where the stock bike has a huge flat spot.

huh?

he said his unrestricted, 70kg heavier, high hp zx14 feels slow.........then what will happen when he ride the gtr? :faint:

then how nEO, are u planning to move on to something else now?

or have u a soultion to moving the pwr further down the pwr band?

change sprocket?

re-mapping ecu?
