Anyone knows how much does a GTR sidebox cost?

The pannier drop in the mid of expressway. Fortunately, no accident happened behind. Think I will be fine heavily if TP is around.. Blessing in disguise.

 

Is the damage bad? H L cycle does paint respray and they repair cracks. You can consider that as an alternative.

 

Go to the advertiser thread and look for H L. They replied my PM fast. I wanna try their service by letting them to respray my side panniers

Eh, Mines a ZZR1400, one of the first on the road. Not a Concours~!

 

Anyway, differences between 06 and 08 model are minute, but 09 got some very nice colors la.

 

My bike got offer from Malaysian liao, pity to de-register it and export. Those who wanna buy should hurry before its gone!

Ya, when I passed over the deal for yr ex-fling, 1 month down the road, i caught my current ride (ZX12R). Boy, the POWER is AWESOME!!! was pondering over a ZZR14 just 2 months ago, but gave up the thought....

thanks for the advise. the damage on the pannier is not really that bad.

Went to loois for the repair and found out the latch mechanism is faulty. Mr lee told me that I am not the first one who need to change the latch. The "lock shaft material" fails easily. The problem was significant in 2008 GTR. For 2009 model the problem was addressed.

 

 

Those who own 2008 GTR, I think it is advisable to have you latch changed($200++). "lock shaft material" similar to 2009 GTR.

 

I believed you do not even want to take the risk rolling your $2000(pannier) on the road... Especially, if you friend is riding behind.

Ah Yes! I wanna change that latch. where to change? go to loois motor?? I found the lock shaft thingy is really weak!

This is not a factory defect by Kawa?

No free replacement?

The latch can be change at loois. I have not ask others shop.

Its consider factory defect by kawa. I remember I read some of the forum and there is recall for the replacement of this "stupid shaft". Unfortunately, I don't know how to lead the way for the free replacement....

 

Mr lee told me the latch replacement is($200++) per pannier. The replacement changes your whole lock mechanism and your exisiting key still can be use.

 

The old "lock shaft" can really fake its way.. Even it is broken it still can be latch for days.. No joke! I seriously remember I had physically (by finger) ensure the latch is secured to the clip. But it just rolled... when I am riding hard on expressway.

We could do an informal meet up this coming Sunday evening either at Mac Do Spring leaf tower downtown or Karl's Junior East Coast Park. Let me know your preferred location, i ll send the email and put it up on our blog.

 

I want to do later on the day ride in Singapore we could not do last photo shoot, at the Veggie farm.

Here is a short video of my 1987 Kawasaki Concours (ZG-1000) or (GTR 1000) getting my knee down. New tires are so much fun. I live in the U.S.A. I hope you enjoy it.

With the Yen being so high, it makes no sense that the price is cheaper than last year.

27k OTR for a GTR? Even back in 2007, thats quite an incredible price....

 

Sure is, most of last year 2008 GTR owners got them at 29.5k OTR, so if price is down now, with the Yen being 30% higher than last July 08, that is incredible.

 

Is it the same bike fully loaded with ABS, model from the UK?
