Hi bro, coolant wise , the establish brands u can consider.

Maxima , pre mix and concentrate available.

Engine ice, most expensive coolant.

Bel-ray is quite new i believe.

waterwetter

Good coolant heats up fast when bike is at traffic junctions and temp drops fast when on the move.

5th Segment meaning H? Yes it has, when I shut down my bike after rolling in heavy traffic, then turn it on a short while later. I've yet to see flashing H, but I heard it can happen if the fan fails. I have twin fans, so temperatures never ever go beyond 3 bars when the engine is running.

My experience with Maxima is that it seems to seep out of gaskets and caps easier, leaving a pink residue. The best coolant is pure distilled water (or Ammonia, which can carry more heat than water).

But coolant's 2nd job is to prevent corrosion in our engines. This is why water based coolants (Water Wetter etc) should be replaced every 6 months, or the waterpump and radiator may rust.

The 3rd component in normal 'green' coolant is antifreeze, which we don't need. So in our hot climate, water based coolants will do. Antifreeze lowers the freezing point of water, and also reduces heat capacity.

Check the label carefully. Engine Ice contains antifreeze too. I'm using Water wetter by the way. Mixxed with battery water.

sorry ...but why u use battery water ??what happen if the coolent seal wear out wont the battery water slip in the engine?:cheeky:will it be beter if use mineral water instead of battery water.

Battery water is de-ionised distilled water, PH-7.

Mineral water, as its name suggests, contains minerals, so as the coolant boils it will deposit minerals in your engine.

yesh bro. once i had no issues with the seeps. this last flush and change, had notice the seeps, pink residue. i tink is the hose clips not proper tighten, i guess quite normal. jus check the coolant reserve reservoir, once its low, top up or flush again bah. btw i m riding the 10.

waterwetter is also good coolant, i have added in the above. like wat u said, abt engine ice with anti freeze, i just feel its OVERPRICED !

Overpriced, and overhyped.

Water wetter/Maxima coolaide is cheaper, cleaner, more efficient.

if the pannier cover can be removed, just send for a quick touch up or respray.

Most people go through life following the crowd.

Others think for themselves.

They go their own way.

Do you have to color code for your bike?

Closest I could find is BMW's Carbon Black #416.

i am planning to put the ohlin shock system on the bike. I have not used ohlin before. Can anyone provides any views on this matter? I welcome both pros and cons.

Ask Advrider, I think he does have a set on his GTR...

If you ride a GTR or ZZR 1400 we want to hear from you at www.kawa1400.blogspot.com

I've had Ohlins on for all the bikes that I had own. Good quality, rebuildable, adjustable, most importantly plug and play. Had the same setting since 1st day I've installed, even with the piliion on nothing to adjust.

But it's very expensive. Must order with the dealer unless they got ready stock. When installation for GTR is a big job a lot of things needed to be removed.

haha... i also 1 2 strike... so any number to share...? btw advrider how much u got for ur ohlins? u bought it online?

Got it from Sporting Motors. Price may be different from the last time I ordered. Check with them.

when installed on GTR, will it raise the height of the bike? i don not want a situation where i have to tip toe on my bike again
