Hey guys i'm new here and i'm planning to enroll to get my license at the end of the year.

Just wanna know how much you guys spend a month just to keep your bikes around. Gas? Maintenance?

Class 2 bikes is what i'm talking about though.

thanks guys :p

Hi, Phonics. Are going for a class 2 license? Or are you planning not get a bike until you've got class 2 license? Haha... just curious.

Anyway, to me a class 2 bike is easier to maintain in terms of frequency as compared to 200cc or less bikes. Gas is always at JB (about once a week) for me until the price drops back to $1.20 for formula 92 and $1.50 for Shell V-Power :cheeky: (like 7 years ago) though those are not quite possible. Normal servicing is about once a year for the spark plugs and twice for the engine oil. I'm riding a Hayabusa btw so these are my routine maintenance for the bike. Affordable and convenient. Ultimately, these fall back to the rider him/herself. Good luck in your motorcycle hunting :thumb: !

ard $80 for gas up to $200 for maintainence

wow, ur petrol more ex. leh. for me petrol monthly around $60. maintenance on average $50 per month for 12 months.

actually more on distance between home, workplace and sch. If let say the distance is 500m, i think u will spend less than $10 per month. lols.

riding a vespa and i regularly pillion hence more petrol..

and the scoot is older than me,so maintainence can be on the high side.

The spark plug replacement frequency is about once a year (10000km-12000km). FYI, my bike, like many other big cc bikes, uses 4 spark plugs.

Maybe he seldom use or for big bike is like tat de...

So far, I have not used the bike for touring this year so I stick to the recommended mileage/period for EO replacement (5000km/6 months). Usually, I'll replace the EO after a tour. FYI, my bike uses 3 and half bottles of EO (similar to Super4).

These are the reasons why I quoted maintaining a bigger cc bike is more convenient than smaller ones especially 2-strokers (in terms of frequency). Of course, one time servicing can easily reach the $100 mark :cheeky: .

sorry salah ahah I meant to say 2B bikes.

Was eyeing the honda sp as maybe the first bike I get..think it's possible to take care of it with a allowance+ pay summing up to about $350?

Would the majority of it go to my bike?

Sorry for being so curious but I really want to know :p thanks~

The $350 including your meals and other stuff??

Dude, you can't afford a bike. Period.

I'm afraid most of it will go to the bike if you are paying by monthly installments. Perhaps, if you are patient enough, you could wait slightly longer so that you can have enough savings to pay for the bike in cash.

Maintenance wise for SP should not be a toll. You can easily go to JB for parts at a cheaper price but be forewarned, cheap does not mean good and vice versa. All the best to ya :thumb: ...

No2 you see I'm lucky enough to have a ok to do family so my dad will be paying for my bike whereas I pay for my license and practicals.

That amount is just roughly what I get but i'm sure if in dire straits I can ask from my family but I am just asking will I really need to?

Haha.. in that case, no problemos at all... chances are you'll spend mostly on gas... stll more than enough cash for yourself if your lifestyle is similar to mine :cheeky: .
