12th lesson: 3.02 ( failed on first attempt)

Emergency break!!!!! as much as i thought i would have fall, i didnt haha. i guess i worried for nothing. you have to accelerate quickly and maintain at speed of 35km/hr for about 20 meters then jam break once reaching the white line, where there will be water on the ground, and you must stop before the red line. it was rather tricky because subconciously, you wont accelerate so fast because your mind knows you are going to stop soon and knows exactly where you are going to stop. and if you go too fast, how are you going to stop in time?? haha that was what i thought of at first and caused me to be scared and didnt accelerate fast in time. when i reached the white line, i was only at 20+km/hr.. then i threw away that mentality and speeded up and i got the speed right already, but always last minute didnt clutch in fast enough and hence stalling the bike. either that, or kan chiong and clutch in too early, causing free wheeling. hence i failed the class haha.

this lesson i would say, is not too difficult to pass ( as compared to the previous lessons - planks and pylon or lane change and blind spot), its whether you can get the hang of it or not. because the whole lesson is just testing on your breaking skills, if you are able to stop the bike within the required breaking distance. and in my opinion, this lesson is quite fun! not so stressful haha

my school exams are coming so i will be taking the weekends to catch up on my studies.. boo :( my next practical will be next monday, wish me luck :)

Does it take up to 3 days to allow internet top up to go into your account at BBDC ?

i am not sure if can convert like that.. better to call up bbdc and ask.. yup it takes 3 days to process through ibanking.. so troublesome. thats why i always make sure my account is well funded before i leave bbdc, so i can book the lesson any time.

13th lesson: 3.02 ( passed on second attempt)

emergency break again.. but passed this time round. yay! my little mistakes are that sometimes i put my fingers and standby on the clutch before even passing the white line to break, when i am not supposed to. and that sometimes i press the front break too hard and caused the front wheel to skid slightly. my class of 5 people all passed the class today. every time when i am lining up at the queue of the emergency break course, it feels just like queueing at johor custom. haha cos the small bikes and big bikes will queue up, and at times there can be more then 10 bikes forming 2 rows! but i love it most when it is empty.. so dont have to wait hehe

while at the junction today, there was a guy who stopped beside me, he was wearing the orange tag and i knew he was taking class 1.03. i turned to him and said, 'good luck for your 1.03 dont be afraid to accelerate more and dont be afraid to fall, enjoy the class and have lots of fun.' he said thanks and shortly after he was scolded by the instructor for talking to me haha sorry ah. i still am a noob myself, but here i am giving encouragements to fresh beginners cos it reminds me of myself when i had started out initially and was rather low confident. because i know how much every word of encouragement matters alot to beginners who might be afraid or low confidence of themselves. just like how a simple smile to someone can brighten up their bad day. you will get stressed at first because you cant figure out gears right, or repeatedly falling down, or just feeling frustrated because the instructor keeps hounding on you. but one thing for sure, dont give up! i m still working on being more comfortable and confident on my bike, but i am thankful that it is still going rather smooth. so far. cross fingers. although there are many blue blacks and bruises on my legs. haha i got most of my blue blacks from mounting the bike up on main stand.

one of the most meaningful advice an instructor has given me was: ' you do know that you are very small in size and it is very easy for the bike to overpower you, make sure you control the bike, not the bike control you'. this advice was given to me when i was doing my pylon course, when he could see that i was afraid to lean deeper when negotiating the bends. it got stuck in my head and really helped me with my confidence towards the bike.

and of course thank you everyone who had given me valuable advises on this forum. i read every one of them :)

next lesson is S course and Crank course.. sounds really fun. hope all goes well!

my next lesson is next week cos i need to study for my monday paper.. wish me luck! :)
