Hi all,

I'm new to riding... please advice!

1) I have one or two life insurance polices. Do general policies cover *touch wood* my injuries/death in an event of an accident??

2) Anyone has AXA 3rd party insurance? I understand for ntuc insurance, can just call IDAC. But what abt AXA? Should I just call a tow service and tow to a registered workshop?

3) Anyone know the list of reg. workshops for AXA insurance?

Im currently holding a 3rd party insurance from AXA cos im still under p plate, well apparently... not necessary to find a registered workshop.. ur own regular workshop that does the axa insurance for u can help u settle everything. definitely depend is u r the one being "kiss" or u "kiss" others from the back.

normally if u met an accident, and u r not badly injured.. take down the parties involved IC number, ask for their Lic to take down not verbally. den hp number, and if ur hp has a camera, take down their car plate... and their damage.. and take down teh time..

Then u give a call to ur bike shop, normally they have tow agent or they do towing themselves.. they will den tow to the shop and do the photo taking of ur damage and stuff.. and from there we claim or we have to be claimed.. so on..

so not much of a worry of the claiming part... definitely 3rd party is said to be taking lot months to claim though, like 6 to 9 months?... tts all..

as for personal insurance.. u will have to approach yr agent to ask more abt "whether isit accidential insurance or death insurance or medical insurance" have a lot... accidential can even sub categorise under on road, light accidential claim, hospitalisation claim... to name a few for u..

Thanks Thailia!

I'm wondering abt a list of workshops, because I bought my ta200 from a private seller and hence dun hav a regular workshop. Anyone knows?

Also, on accidents, is there a difference in coverage between driving a motor car and riding a bike? Like say.. for bike more percieved bodily injury risk and hence must get a different kind of insurance and pay more? Got such thing?

Cos I got living insurance.. got cover accidents, but I just want to know if 'accidents' for insurance in general.. encompasses car or bike accidents or are they seperate?

It depends on the type of policy, and the insurer issuing that policy.

For instance, life policies pay on death (from all causes except suicide in the first year). They don't pay benefits for accident.

Read your policy and ask your adviser if you are not clear.

If i'm not mistaken, generally Life Policies will not pay for accidents unless it results in total and permanent disability.

Bro, borrow thread abit,

Road tax end in Jan 2007, renew half year till July 2007

Insurance end in Feb 2007, so as usual, thru motordiam "extend" the insurance till July 2007.

July, road tax and insurance came together, sibei siong.. somemore before payday. Then ask motordiam renew road tax half a year, insurance 1 year..

So lets say is there anyway to make it due in Jan instead?

Hmm.. if i wanna change insurance, who do i call to get a quote from...etc? my bike wont be under hire purchase anymore from August.... :)
