Singapore 0-4 Malaysia !!!

was there at the stadium and singapore played like shit. wif all the long balls and poor finishing, the lions were simply spanked by the quick and effective tigers. at 0-2, there was already an exodus of pple leaving the stadium. how can we get thrashed so badly esp when we boast of the prfessional Sleague.

the malaysian left winger was simply a sight to behold, macham ryan giggs like that and he almost hat tricked some more. world cup 2010? my anus is laughing

I just sent this to ST forums..

I have just watched the Singapore vs Malaysia match at the National Stadium this evening, when Singapore crashed to a surprising and disappointing 0-4 defeat to the Malaysians. It was a traditionally close encounter when many people expected the Lions to come out on top, but the Lions failed to impress. As with many fans, I am disappointed by this result, the Lions showed that the main weakness is still the severe lacking of mental strength, the desire to win. However I don't really blame the team, as many so-called fans in the stadium showed themselves to be lacking in mental strength.

Before the match started, i observed that the Malaysians were sitting in a group. As the match progressed, i started to see many new Malaysian fans, wearing the Die Hard Fan T-shirts. I started to hear people cheering for Malaysia, making catcalls at the Lions' mistakes. One incident, however will forever be etched in my memory. A "Die Hard fan" borrowed the Malaysian flag and started cheering. If that was not enough, he dramatically took off his red T-shirt and threw it down, before continuing waving the flag. I find this gesture really disgraceful, are we really such turncoats, who are unable to accept the fact that Singapore soccer is still trying to recover from the post-Malaysia Cup blues. If the Lions play England, i won't be surprised if many local fans cheer only for England, but we are now only playing Malaysia, who's supposedly our Malayan derby rivals. A true Scottish will never ever support England when Scotland plays England, he has national pride.

A true fan would stand by his team, no matter what happens. When Manchester United dominated English soccer in the 1990s, many pseudo-fans emerged, only to switch allegiance to another team when Man Utd is down. I have absolutely no say in their decisions, but bear in mind here, we are talking about a national team, our own national team to be specific. Singaporeans are fed huge dosages of English soccer, and so we may end up supporting the England National team. However we can never ever forsake our own team, because if we as Singaporeans don't support them, I seriously doubt if the Lions can amount to anything. True, local soccer maybe of sub-standard compared to that of other countries that we are so exposed to, but the only way we can improve is by getting behind the national team and supporting them through their ups and downs.

It is high time we stop criticising the Lions, and look at ourselves. Are we really willing to forsake the development of our local soccer in preference for foreign soccer that is already so well-developed? Are we really willing to heed the government's call to get behind Goal 2010, instead of simply lament that Singapore "cannot make it"? Singapore has conquered so many difficulties in our nearly 40 years of nation-building, this is impossible without the citizens getting into the act. Surely it will not be impossible that Singapore makes it into the World Cup Finals, so long as the entire nation gets committed.

For all the past 12 years supporting local soccer, i dare say i have never for once forsaken the Lions. As a child, i have cried when Singapore got relegated in the Malaysian League and knocked out of the 1993 SEA Games tournament. I've celebrated our victories, may it be how rare and minor they are. I've tried my best to make it for every home game. I want to be there supporting the team in Goal 2010, and rest assured, the day when Singapore appears in the World Cup Finals, I am going to be there holding our flag and singing Majulah Singapura proudly..

Most soccer fans were disappointed with sing's performance

but think the guy was too much....

But then again, the fans should have a right to feel aggrieved

with sing's performance in recent years...

Dunno how much of our hard earned tax money is already spent on 'foreign talent'. Buy 11 Brazilians and you going to have 1 ERP gantry at every carpark exit! GST 20%! Breathing Tax (1 cent per breath!)! Then Weekend Orchard Rd a lot of shoppers.... very crowded, so they might even build a 'human ERP' gantry!!!!!! Wahahahahahah

i cannot imagine wat will be the outcome if we lose to laos. to tell u the truth, if u look at the match, when MY scored, some of dem jus slump in defeat on the field. seems like none of dem were interested in fighting back to even the score. its like dey have given up on demselves even b4 the match ended. the defense is static, and the midfield were losing out the battle and first touches of the forwards are terrible. there is no grit in this team. how can dey perform like dey are playing on some street soccer court when u have the entire national stadium cheering u?

I was at Kallang KFC last night and I saw hordes of Singapore fans leaving the stadium. And the stream of vehicles leaving were endless. With the number of fans supporting the home team, it's surprising that the margin is so much. And the look on their faces were of dejection. When can we get back the standard we had in 1994? :pity:

2010? Yeah me too: my anus is laughing, and probably rolling on the floor and holding it's stomach if it could, too.

I agree with lychee man, sg players simply lost all fighting spirit after MY scores. DAniel Bennet was like ball watching for the last goal, nazri nasir and rafi ali passing to dunno who, 3-5-2 formation but the midfields doesn't support in defence one. Midfield not working how to score goals? Most 2lan is around 60-70th minute, saw a few Sg players leg cramp, last night "whack" too much in KTV? So low fitness!!

Cannot make it. I think SBF need to gather up some local talents of ourselves and register ourselves for national team la. :p :P

Singapore deserves it lah, talk so much in the newspaper in the end nothing.. That's why I betted on Malaysia at the Score booth :D . I think FAS needs to spend money and get Gus Hiddink to coach the squad or get foreign talent from France, Senegal or Brazil coz frankly speaking Singapore national team totally cannot make it man!

All that is gold does not glitter, Not all who wander are lost; The old that is strong does not wither, Deep roots are not reached by the frost. From the ashes a fire shall be woken, A light from the shadows shall spring; Renewed shall be blade that was broken: The crownless again shall be king.

let's give our Lions a break. they kana thrashed by the Tigers, then kana whacked some more by their press and our press and then their own fans. everyone deserves a 2nd chance. let's stand by them in good and bad times. they need thier fans even more now.

let's not give up on them! I want to see them perform at their best against Laos and Thailand.

Yoz Bros....

Actualli my heart goes all out to Sinapore......

But seeing those arse...the way they playz.....waste money lar...

Personally i feel that if sinpaore is going to excel.....

1) Sinapore shou drop all those "aging "playerz.......ie . Nazir nasir...

i am not denying his contribution to Sing soccer....but he is over the hill......play liek a pussy...then when kena interview...wan to push blame ardz....: I play to the coach tactics......wat he mean by that??? i can play veri good..my coach lousyz....

2) Adi iskandar.......all along ....he is lousy..dun noe y ppl sees him as a pillon of defend?? he wans to be sol campbell mehz

sori bro.....these is jus a few of the examples i giving.......there is alot.......

but don wiosh to comment much....

Basically i feel that Jen Poulson is a great coach.......when the Team fails..u cannot ask for the coach's headz.....shou ask for the players...

For the Ultimate sake of Singapore soccer............Sack the senior playerz........

Give the juniors a chance!!!! They6 have more fire and are more hungry......................

*note : Oldhen is not a professional soccer player or coach. He is jus a irrate fans voiceing his displeasure....

He can only last 45 mins on a soccer field playing against Brazil in FIFA 2002 Game

We supported our country and alight the Kallang Roar once again.

But ended up with the head in plastics and spirit down with a fabulous scoreline of 0-4.

We supported and wat we get?

DISAPPOINTMENT

:nono: :nono: :nono: :nono: :nono:

Hope Thailand thrash them upside down with scoreline more than 6-0.

2010 maybe can only get the SeaGames Gold in street soccer.
