Just wondering, did u consider all the other factors that will cause a rider to skid in wet weather before concluding it is tyre problem?

Ride fast..ride safe..don't crash...

It is known that FZ16 stock tire suck big time in wet. Change to any reputable brand like Bridgestone, Metzeler , Michelin

will greatly improve your confidence in wet condition. Heard Metzeler M5 got good reviews. Ask around at FZ16 forum or second opinions. Ride safe.

on top of changing tyres, jJust some personal advise after many near misses.

Always take note if the road is:

sandy

small rocks

has metal plates cauz of construction

metal drain covers

road markings (like those white lane numbers, white lane divider, white road strips)

slippery carpark floor

deep puddles of water.

all these are road killers to us bikers. they are damn slippery even if your tyre has super good traction.

he is partially correct lol. if floor slippery ABS also cant save you.

Yes that's what I meant. Assuming a rider ( not TS), taking so much lean in wet weather. No amount of safety measures can save a crash from happening.

thanks guys for sharing your opinions and experience. based on experience what would be a good wet weather tyre ??

im personally using pirellli strada now, so far nt bad long life and deep groove. front tyre has grooves in the middle for good water channeling the other 2 model listed below does not have this. not sure if fz16 has this model.

used metzler z8 previously the tyre not very smooth during turning as the centre part of tyre is made flat like (_) not the conventional U shape

first tyre was metzler m3 went bald very quickly.

I think you have more than enough information above that riding habits play a bigger role than just changing the tyres.

I'm using Metzeler M5 which is pretty good, much better than stock.

There is limited choices of tyres for FZ16 as the rim size is quite small, Front 110/70/17 and rear is 140/70/17. My friend who is riding Fz16 is using Bridestone BT39.

wah so big ah the rim size for a class 2b bike?anyways the rims quoted are usable for tires by super4 project big 1 and version s. I would strongly recommend arrowmax gt501 for front and rear. Medium Good grip in both wet n dry and can last like 35k km until u can see the white fibre. I ever used BT39 which only lasted until 12k km before the white fibre appears but of coz this is a stickier tyre thus wear out faster but then perhaps fz16 lower torque maybe not wear out the tyre as fast a s4 pb1.

you can always try the other manufacturers which can fit your bike example

pirelli sport demon-I have yet to try

bt090 - fuyo super sticky but lasted only 9k km before white fibre appears

is a good source for ur tyres which fit your size plus prices.

Anyways good riding habits like riding in the right gear at the right place do helps.cheers!

I ride at 70km/hr only...please please dont blow2 at me or overtake me dangerously....wait i change into Incredible Hulk n dont know why my little baby bike will always be ahead of u if u do that

I am a big Michelin Fan too. Using Pilot Rd 3 now. Michelin Rd 2 and 3 are my favourite tyres. Yet to try Pilot Rd 4.

You intrigued me on the michelin pilot road 3. Read reviews on it and its radically different especially in the rain from Michelin Road 2. Must try when the current m5 wear out ah

Agreed on rd 3, improved confidences on wet surfaces.

Perhaps TS can provide us a list of tires you are aiming for your bike, then we provides suggestion for you? My tires may be good for my bike but may not be suitable for yours.

My bike tyre size same as fz16.. comes with bt39 when I bought it.. personally I feel this tyre id kinda hard... when lane change , tyre happen to travel on the white line, can feel the bike wobbling.. nv have this kind of feel since day 1 of ride.. aiming pilot street for my next tyre plus its also cheaper than bridgestone n pirelli. .. dunlop arrowmax nv try b4 my feel is it isnt good for cornering due to the angle

WTS givi e16 smile box, with led @$20
