Hi Shadowman,

Indeed that's the average fuel consumption I am having. In fact, on my last monitoring is that I manage to get 17km/L on normal everyday riding to work and back.

I am riding the same model as what you are having. Hope you enjoy your ride!!

Hey all.... Here's my experience from riding the cb750.

Its a very simple bike. No complications. Just carbs and the engine.

My engine oil was leaking due to worn gaskets. I could actually see oil leaking from the bottom. Thats why i changed the whole bottom set gaskets, oil seals and washers.

Timing part... This bike has hydraulic adjusted valve system. So there's no need for any valve clearance. Valve are automatically compsensated by the pressure of engine oil going through these small "bullets" at the cam area.

manutd >> The reason for your eratic cold start and poor fuel consumption could be due to your carbs. Get it cleaned and tuned by a reputable mechanic. I got mine done by Rosli. Servicing the carbs for this bike is not complicated issue as it has a very basic operation.

I used my cb750 as my daily ride as well as my touring bike. Engine oil consumption still occurs at long duration of high speed travelling during touring. But then again, this happens for my current ride too. Anyways, its always advisable to bring extra engine oil during touring trips. Fuel consumption averages at 18km/l for daily rides and 14km/l at speeds >130km/l.

i whole-heartedly endorse on this paragraph.

well said william tan !

thks man

one more field report

today i travel around 64km, 70% highway

one thing different is i am very gentle with the bike today

2000rpm i change gear on pick up, highway on relax mode 90km/h-100km/h(3600rpm)

but to my surprise i actually have lower FC. 12.3km/l compare 3000rpm change gear which i am getting 14.8km/L ......

information update

first bar on the fuel gauge is approx 4L - 4.5L.

short review

this bike is very very very comfortable, super stable, and the power is hehehe.....

power... especially the torque. one thing i haven got use to, is the FC. So far enjoy the bike alot, waiting for a chance to bring it for a short touring trip.

i had install a GIVI A770 wind shield for the my CB, so far it is working very well up to 190km/hr.

All CB brothers, hope one day we can have one mass gathering where we can exchange pointers and maybe trip to thailand. hee...!

thks

Usually once kick to 5th gear, I just stay at 5th, seldom need to change gear when overtaking etc...

hehehe...

FC for 2000 model is abit high (2 exhaust?) but more power.

My FC is around 17km/L (city riding), drop to 10km/h (highway speed).

Check your tyre pressure regularly, it affect alot on the FC.

All CB riders have been so quiet. We should have more activities so this place not so quiet.

Haider,

I am riding CB13 too. I find the maitanance is affordable. It is just like using Super4. But again, that is my opinion. There might be others having different opinion.
