Hi, any bro using royal purple oil? How's the oil?

I used RP HPS for my car - on par with the reputable brands like Shell and Mobil 1. There's a version for V-twin motorcycles which I have not used so can't really comment.

Amazon offers free shipping and their RP is quite a good buy, should be cheaper than any shop here.

it didn't do quite well in a few department in Amsoil motorcycle oil white paper test.

 

if you care about shear stability, Volatility, foaming tendency at least in lab test, then this oil might not be your cup of tea.

RPs are not base III stocks from what I know. And their Viscosity Index are 160+. That's good oil rating for me.

what wrong with group iii oil? So with high vi, what benefit you are trying to achieve?

Engine oils are very subjective to each individual. What works for me , might not works for you. Just try it yourself to see whih one suit you best. Using Redline motorcycle 10W40 for about 2k km now. So far so good. Next might want to try Amsoil motorcycle 10W40.Redline , Amsoil and Royal Purple can get it at reasonable price at Mx-tradings.com .

i know about butt dyno that why i quote some actual lab tests. that is to say we heard lots of comments how good or bad that oil is, but did we actually know of any engine got damage due to oil choice? i have never read a bad used oil analysis that can really be link to the type of oil being used spare a few that seem to have higher wear of certain metal.

 

for example, some mobil oil are suspected to cause higher iron wear reading and redline is know to cause higher soft metal reading. again, users has also put out significant mileage with those oils and __________ (insert any brand you like) does the same too.

 

oil choice is really 90% marketing and opinions with 10% facts. for me, i just use any decent brand with decent price that meet my engine manufacturer recommendation and change it regularly.

xingwei - just use approve oil, you can try all different oils to test which you really like in terms of lasting & smoothness.

Different bike suit with different type of 4T. I have tried 10 bikes but all diff 4T brand usage.
