Hi,

Just bought myself a voltmeter but have no idea where to place the wiring. The negative polarity can go straight to the battery, but where do I connect the positive polarity?

Cheers!

you can connect to your ignition positive.. so when you on your ignition your voltmeter will also on at the same time.

some tap to the rectifier of the bike or direct to batt.. but they put a relay inbetween so when the ignition on.. it will trigger the relay and on it and cause your voltmeter to react/measure the voltage from the batt..

direct measure from the volt from the batt is gd as is wat you wanted or the main purpose of the voltmeter is.. but quite alot of work. but if you good in DIY then shoun't be a prob

the autogauge i bought comes with 3 wires. 1 wire, i tapped it to the ignition fuse. another wire, direct to the battery. last but not least, the black wire, i tapped it to the nearest ground (bike frame).

good luck DIY-ing!

btw just curious.. my ignition FUSE is too far from my glovebox on my vespa... however, there are like 6 fuses in the glovebox...

can i tap to any of the fuses? e.g. headlight fuse.. cos i on ignition.. headlight on as well.....

it will be good if u can find out which fuse is used in which circuit (e.g. fuse for headlight, panel lights, etc) before u tap the wire to the fuse. this will come in useful to decide on when u wan the voltmeter to be on (e.g. when u switch on headlight, when u start the bike, etc)
