My ex's frd was rejected bcoz she failed the height test tat day.

its ok Throttle. its true.. maybe its e way i speak. but hor~ those who got in for e 2nd interview hor~ speaks even worse than mi. those who speaks well, cant get in.

 

newbie: i nv scold him la. i where got so po la. haha... yup. maybe i realli cant be cabin crew bah.

 

SimplyMe: i oso thinkin of tat. haha... when i went for e interview, there's a ex SQ crew who apply for SilkAir. she's shorter than mi lor. realli duno wat they lookin for~ my frens who are in SilkAir oso said tat.. some who got in cannot make it.

I think you need to carry yourself well during such an interview.

The paper qualifications are secondary.

But if you speak like how you do in this forum.....sorry girl....the truth hurts.

 

If you speak too singlishly, giggle like a kid and cannot handle normal smart conversation, sure cannot pass. Even if you pass the first round, you cannot pass the other rounds which include swimming test (lame excuse to see if you are fat or have tattoos exposing) and stand up luncheon party test (to see if you are approachable and friendly or people-oriented)

 

My Dad was an SIA Cabin Crew interviewer.

All these stories I heard since a kid.

You can say i practically grew up with SIA girls......

 

One thing I must say. Many SIA girls in the past have real class. Nowadays maybe 10% if lucky, have it.

eleenz> shorter den u is relative. if ur 1.8m, den alot of gals n even guys will be be shorter den u. the ht req is 1.58, if i rmbr correctly. they will not compromise on this coz the cabin crew mz be able to reach the overhead lugguge.

so even , if the gal is shorter den u but >1.58, den she wld hav passed tt rd.

 

hah, i tink thrs a conspiracy somewhr la. they dun wan the so-called prettier ones to reduce the distraction of the pilots n passengers.

woow~ so gd. den ask ur dad wat they actually lookin for leh. last time SIA gals realli pretty. but nw realli some cannot make it de lor. its not tat i jealous or wat. but its true.

My Dad always look out for one thing. A genuine and warm smile.

Other things can be trained, he said. But a real genuine warm smile and personality is a gift.

i mean i grew up hearing and seeing them.

I started taking a plane when i was 3 years old back in 1976.

Every year , my Dad would bring us somewhere on holiday so every year i will take SIA plane a few times until I was 25 yrs old . The SIA girls always treated me very well. (Maybe becos 80% of the time I was on First Class).

 

 

Nowadays I still take SIA for business at least once a month.

Looks like my whole life I cannot run away from SIA girls.

 

As for my wife, nope she is not an SIA girl. *relief*

I dont think any more highly of them compared to any other girl in the street. In other words, i find the SIA girl overhyped. /It's a great marketing ploy but when you've seen the backstage scenes of a "runway". You know that it's all a false front.

How u portray yourself is vering important for an interview not only for sq interview... most interviews look at that too,.

 

U can improve on that which will help u down the road.

 

With past experience is a plus point for acceptance however, depends on many factors to be shortlisted as well. Those not fromo the airline stand the same chance too.
