Just got my first helmet back in October 2014, Caberg Duke from LAB. Visor was advertised as scratch resistant as follows:

However, take a clear look after using it for half a year:

Even tried to use scratch removal cream to wipe it off, but can't do anything.

Got 2 duke helmets, both also got scratches. This one more jialat.

Is this due to defective goods from LAB? As I've read some of them got "fake" goods from other SBF threads.

Or due to false Caberg company advertising?

What you all think?

It says Scratch Resistant

It will resist scratches, it's not immune to them. It'll still pick up scratches albeit at a slower rate.

Smile! Tomorrow will be worse.

If half a year and your visor looks like that, u really don't know how to take care of your stuff.

frankly any manufacturer can label their visor as 'scratch resistant' even if they have no special added thing on the plastic. like someone rightly pointed out, 'scratch resistant' is not 'scratch-proof', so you cant blame the manufacturer for false advertising. as far as i know, no visor has ever been labelled 'scratch proof'.

all the full face helmets i've bought in the past ten years have had their visors labelled 'scratch resistant', from HJC to Rjays to MHR and watever i've used. a lot of them have indeed ended up looking like wat TS has shown, though some end up looking like that in 6 months, some in a year. i dun treat any of them differently, so you cant blame me for not knowing how to take care.

by far the best scratch resistant i have is my current HJC R-PHA 10. its been almost two years, and although it is not completely scratch-free, it appears completely clear when on. i know what its like to have a visor with scratches visible when you put it on; the R-PHA 10 is clear. i dont know if all of HJC's current model helmet visors are this good, or its only because its HJC's top lid. i've had lower end HJC in the past which did not perform this well.

It's true: it's more fun to ride a slow bike fast than to ride a fast bike slow. Admittedly, though... It is MOST fun to ride a fast bike fast!

TS, I am using Caberg Duke too and the visor has been serving me well. Seemed like u are a heavy duty user. Can scratch until like that.
