Hi Forumers and expert,

Basically I ride a scooter, did a belt, roller and ushoe change on 9th Feb, coupled with washing of clutch.

4th Apr, I was pushing my bike and realized my wheel jammed. My friend came down and help me, discovered that the nut in the clutch loosen and jammed by the bell. The thread of the nut and the fixture of the clutch grinded.

This nut is not that easy to be loosen else all scooters are in danger. Thus suspected the failure to tighten the nut to torque.

So the question is how can I go about doing things? I won't take out my clutch for nothing as I just changed the belt. Now that is damage, thank God not severely as I discovered it early. Its still grinded by quite a bit. Who can I go to in this kind of dispute?

Hope you guys can help!

dont have bro. there is no stat board or authority that will force the shop to compensate for poor workmanship.

remember the poor chap who got electrocuted in the shower? the conclusion was shoddy workmanship from unqualified person who fixed the water heater. anything happened to the unqualified guy who installed the heater? nope. because he didn't commit any crime to speak of.

in these instances, your only recourse is to sue. and that is if you have evidence its definitely the mechanic who didn screw the thing in properly. the fact that it was the very part serviced recently is only circumstantial. even if you do have the evidence, you have to consider worth the time effort and money for the amount you actually looking for.

It's true: it's more fun to ride a slow bike fast than to ride a fast bike slow. Admittedly, though... It is MOST fun to ride a fast bike fast!

Think the best you can do is post the name of the bikeshop. Your negative experience with the shop will alert others to avoid them
