Hey there guys!

Well, just a question before i hit the sack. My mechanic's shop is kindda far, so if i can resolve this here, it'll be swell.

Heres the issue:

My breaks and disk are new.

My break fluid indicates theres plently left.

But the thing is, 80% of the time when i hit the front breaks, i get quite a squeeking from them. As for my rear breaks, i do get some squeeking but only for the first few mins of my journey.

Ideas anyone? I live at bishan so if i can resolve this nearby (that you know of) I'm cool man.

Alright, Thank You All, Nights!

Brake dust and brake pad glazing is the cause of all these squeaks and squeals.

You need to wash the brake disc with alot of soapy water and remove the brake pads and sandpaper them till the glazed layer is gone.

The other option you can try to get the brake dust out is to pour copious amounts of water on the brake caliper to get rid of the brake dust. With the brakes totally wet, apply abit of brakes and push the bike.. the disc will be streaked with brake dust water mixture, wash off and repeat till no more dust can be seen on the disc.

If you have just changed your brake pads.. then you have not 'bedded' them in yet. You need to go harder on the brakes to bed them in. If you do not do that... they will glaze over and cause squealing.

haha, thanks bros.

And yea, kinnda pai sei man! esp when got cheo-bu walking in front.. bike looks solid, slowly approaching stop line... Den... quuuui-quuui-quuuui-qiiiiiiii....

I went to another mech, got it fixed. Turns out that i had little/no padding on the front breaks. Previous mech told me he fixed new break-pads but i found out from this mech he only fixed the back break-pads. What on earth man? And i think i paid for 2 sommore.

Got the new pads for the front wheel fixed @ $28. It was a different shop this time - My friend's mech's shop. So yea, its all cool now.

All cool but my ERP unit which just blew up! It's gone and new one's cost $155. Looks like next month i can prepare to eat $1.50 cream crackers everyday lo... And i'll prob need to head to JB to buy my petrol. Not forgetting a pack of ciggs.. Well, when it rains it pours.
