Hi,really need your help. My friend is riding a kr and he actually took out the air box cover and he told me it actually gives his bike much more power and his exhaust is an original exhaust. I am also riding a kr and mine is tong end can and i took out my air box cover too but i experienced the power actually not there..can anybody enlighten me plz..

if the air intake is over den it will lose of power ma.. take out the cover is just for nice sound.. some1 correct me if im wrong..:cheeky:

go redo the carb settings. most probably ur getting too much air in the air/fuel mixture.

 

rather than opening the airbox, i suggest u use a k&n open port filter.

 

sounds louder :cheeky:

because of too much air intake will the bike like stall while riding..cos i experienced it..was goin at 140 then all of a sudden the bike just shut dwn...

By removing the "airbox" (I assume together with airfilter), it would increase the air volume to the carb resulting in leaner mixture thus there will be an increased in power. However without an air filter, your carb, and piston are not protected by all the micro particles which will eventually damage your engine.

Running it too lean (lean is ok, too lean is bad), will increase the operating temperature of the engine, if it runs too hot for too long, then something will have to go.

"tong" exhaust does nothing to street riding except for making alot of noise. A "tong" exhaust performance will only be optimised at high rpm, like in drag racing. Performance from low to mid will suffer as there is a lack of back pressure.
