[Enquiry] Overhaul/Piston Jam

guys my x1 just piston jam... now need to overhaul engine...

 

any idea how much the overhaul will cost ? mind telling me an estimate ?

 

also is it true that x1 at high speed will "Eat" engine oil ? cos when the mechanic drain my x1, it was left with 70 ml...

 

i am very sure gasket is ok, cos i nv see any oil below my bike b4...

probably the engine block was 'scratched' beyond repair...

high speed i reckon you're referring to almost max speed of your X1...

 

usually its okie to ride at high speed... but to eat EO from 800ml to 70ml....

 

needs abit of negligance... c'mon.. admit it.. hahah..

 

my best guess for overhaul is 700 bucks.

the bike is just a tpt bike to me, so anything affordable + good enough for the bike is ok liao! can recommend ?

i would estimate around $500

price estimated based on my fren's KR which encountered piston seize.

since u mentioned yr conrod is affected too, likely need to replace as well.

 

anyway, the engine oil kena 'eaten' away is different from oil leak. hence, looking for oil drips on the parking lot floor isnt exactly going to help.

 

do remember to check engine oil level every few weeks or so in the future & top up if necessary (before the engine oil is due for replacement).

if you're really looking for 'oil that can use'... i suggest you use the YAMAHALUBE semi synthetic ones...... good price and confirm wont go wrong... 10 bucks i think...

jammed till the kickstarter cant kick down, the conrod is STUCK in the engine, cannot take out the piston!

last time my x1 also piston jam because of engine oil eating.. and yes cannot kickstart.. i did overhaul around $400+.. i think max should cos $500 plus cos a lot of things spoil.. cam spoil, conrod spoil, crank bent, block scratched, piston very hard to take out, etc..

so i think i shld get extra 4t and put at home ? top up a bit every 2 weeks or so ?

ME WORKING IN JURONG PORT AND MY BRO WORKING IN CHANGI AND WE R STAYING IN WOODLANDS.

AND FURTHER MORE NO NEED TO WAIT FOR HIGH SPEED THE EO USE UP AT PROLONG DISTANCE. AFTER 1 WEEK TO AND FRO WORK TO HOME WE CAN C A LOT OF RESULT ALREADY

Hi. I'm posting this on behalf of my bf. His engine started to make some 'cling cling' noise on sat. Suspect is piston jam. He sent it to a bike shop at ubi. The guy quoted him top overhaul $400 full overhaul $800. Need to know if this price is ok. If not, what should be the 'ok' price range? Thanks!!

see what kind of cling cling. if throttle and ur bike like hard to move..might be piston going to jam.it can also mean other thing.

top overhaul i assume is change the piston,piston ring, bearings all.try to find somewhere lesser. at unique is 220 for top. if full overhaul means everything change including the engine block will cost a bomb but im not sure how much..

 

anyway, what bike is he riding? x1?
