i jus got my class 2B 2 weeks ago, interested to get a bike. Just very confused about all the insurances and taxes that i have to pay. Is a book like "Idiots guide to getting a bike". some one please have the patience to guide. Thanks a millions!!!

to ride a bike on sg roads .. u need to hav ure lisence.. den insurance 3rd party will do. den road tax at $36 for half a yr for most 2b bikes..

since you already member, have the patience to look through the forums especially in legality and regulations. it will help you alot. or use the search h button there were many others before you asking the same questions and i'm sure you'll find your answers here.

1. wat do you want from the bike? Looks/Handling/speed? Low maintenance? good mileage?(dun say all cos dat bike dun exist)

2. do u intend to upgrade after 1yr? If you do, think about a 2nd hand budget bike.

3. wat kind of budget do you have? Think about all the running costs like petrol/parking/maintenance and annual costs like insurance(min is 3rd party but I suggest get 3rd party+fire&theft) and road tax.(sport models usually have higher insurance costs)

 

Do your research. Narrow your list to the top 3 bikes then ask the feedback from the threads available here. Before anyone here can help you, you need to figure out wat u want. But please dun trust the bikeshops too much. Most em will tell u anything to sell u a lemon. Take ur time and shop around. Ask questions! G'luck

congrats bro, for getting ur license and finding the right place to surf. Be patient, just keep surfing the 'legality & regulations' and 'bikes & bytes' section. there are more than u ever need to know.. that's what i did also when i got my license

i suggest u get a cbf150. ybr125, or bajaj pulsar180. all dis are fuel economy bikes. n need spark plug n engine oil change ard evry 2 mths n spark plug 3 or4 mths n these bikes have decent looks. most kupchais oso fuel economy n have more or less fuel consumption like these bikes... but their tank is only ard 3 to 4 litres onli. means u go jb topup oso not worth. if u choose style then prepare to throw away money on bikes like tzm. always take mc n on other days take light duties. if u wan both style n looks u get a cbr150 or cbr125. both r sportbikes with the same characteristics as fuel consumption bike but have small tank. n the cbr125 is a new model n not cheap (almost 6k machine price).
