Hi Guys,

Am currently considering a change from sportsbike to a naked street. Basically have narrowed down to CB1000R, Z1000 and the FZ1-N. Would be great if I could get some input from the bros riding the CB1000R on things like fuel consumption, costs of parts replacement and availability, amount of EO used together with filter change, aftermarket parts availability such as endcans etc and also powerwise(heard of people saying it's underpowered for its class), comfortness during long distance with/without pillion. Appreciate the inputs.

Thanks!

Hi,for CB1KR with an end can pipe i would get 200km b4 reserve. so far i only dare to left it up to 240km with reserve.but never tried fully emptied... Cost of OEM parts quite X considering its a european bike.Availability of OEM parts I always tried it @ Chong Aik or else u can try order online..

EO about 2.9L,if with filter change will be 3L..

endcan currently only heard of Laser GP being legalised. theres alot such as yoshi, remus, termi, arrow & etc but dont know legal or not...

powerwise for me its powerful enough for naked street..

comfortness, never tried long distance except for single ride to malacca.

its ideal for cruising ride like 160-180km/hr & not ideal for a high speed ride becaused its naked & not aerodynamic.

thats all for my input.

hope it can assist the selection of your naked street bike...

Appreciate your detailed input bro. 200km( what is the tank size anyway?) full to reserve sounds average for a liter bike and i believe ure doing the right thing not letting it run till empty cos so i heard ppl saying not good for FI bike...correct me if im wrong. 3L EO sounds decent too for a big cc bike. Btw which EO have u guys tried and tested to be good? Have always been a Belray user here. Find that motul is good but pricey...

Any of u guys actually bought and installed the bellypan? Any idea where to purchase locally?

I guess one would experience bad wind resistance when traveling fast due to absence of windshield. Anyway im sure its a fun bike to zip around this small city of ours :)

Last but not least... Got myself one yesterday amd awaiting delivery =)

Hi bro, the tank is 14L+3L reserve. I've been using ipone for a while but had recently changed to belray.. Not too bad for both IMHO.

This Friday 21 Dec if u free can come down to Coffeebean @ Forum (CBF) 9pm onwards. Naked Comrades meet up. Its open to all naked bike owners n u'll definitely get a lot of info u need!

Anything u can pm me yr mobile number n I'll get back to u.

I did saw em at ermax website and they're pretty ex i must say. Total damage would be close to $700!

Wondering if there're other brands at a more attractive price. Need not be matching cos can always send for spray paint.

Yeah mine's the tricolor. Waiting impatiently here. Haha. Yours too eh?

Fuel consumption 17 - 19 km/L depending if you are throttle happy (NSHW - u can get up to 22 if u leisure cruise not above 120) EO 3L of IPONE (only tried Maxima, Castrol before, IPONE my fav)

Tried Max 235km to hit reserve. Rode with reserve for Max 30km (its a 13L+4L tank written in the manual)

Not a bike for comfortable touring (high speed cruising) cos of the naked set-up but im used to it (windblast from 150km/h onwards - max speed tried 220km/h) and have used it from SG to Saiyok -> Myanmar Border, so reliability is there as with all Hondas (used improvised tailbag with cargo net and bungee ropes for luggauge)

Got Puig Bikini Windscreen from Unique & Belly Pan/Rear Fender from Loois

My IU is right of the clutch fluid reservoir mounted from the handlebar riser so blocking bit of the speedometer

Power wise im quite satisfied as this machine has enuff torque even at gear 6 to pull away from other vehicles or over-taking (Using LV GP Pro End Can) Personally do not need PC V or FAST II. Seen Akra/Arrow/Yoshi/Termi pipes with this machine before too. Exhaust sound does not have as much "OMPH", compared with other similar machines.

Michelin Pilot Road 3 tyres for wet weather reliability.

Lacking is a gear indicator and lack of places to mount fog/blinker lights. (Get a Tourer or FZ instead if you want ease of mounting but i just love the CB1000R hahaha =P)

Thanks for sharing those info bro. Now more or less i know what to expect from this machine.

Surprisingly for a litre bike i'd say the consumption's pretty decent. Comparing it to the Z1000, the latter's a fuel guzzler! Was actually contemplating between these 2. I guess the CB1KR's a pretty light bike for it's class too which may contribute to the better fuel economy.

Touring... Though would love to take it up north one day, don't really tour as i'm more of a urban commuter hence touring capabilities don't really matter much to me. The fact that uve actually reached myanmar, proves the worthiness of the bike for long distance. Haha. One can only imagine how tiring fighting the windblast at times.

Belly pan & rear hugger...how much did ya get yours from loois bro? I've been searching the net and they're pretty costly!

So far, i've ordered a k&n air filter and considering to get a yoshi tail tidy. U have a tail tidy on urs too? Any idea how much the shops here selling?

Exhausts...understand that now lta don permit the use of full systems anymore! WTH! Any good/nice legal ones to recommend? Any bros decat their pipes? Hehe

IU..still searching or a good spot.

Tyres...prolly give the stock ones a try...noticed the CB1KR using a 180 width tyre. Anyone change to oversized?

As for meters..thinking of installing the koso volt meter ang GIpro gear indicator...

Hi guys,

Anyone selling theirs or have a spare set of the "lightning" side shrouds of the CB1000R?

Especially those owners who have upgraded to CF ones and have the original factory ones lying around.

Preferably in white, if possible. Otherwise, other colours can be considered.

If anyone selling theirs, kindly please PM me the details (e.g. colour, condition and price).

Thanks.
