There's one brand of wax + shampoo selling a set at Home fix it's really very good and cheap. The wax usually i will use soft99(sold at caltex), that is really powerful and shiny.

You get what you pay for. Cheaper waxes and polishes leave a 'nice' shine, more expensive products (like Autoglym) leave a shine that makes you want to lick it. I've used both cheap and expensive. For all the labor I must do, I'll take the expensive and get a better result.

I alway use turtle wax...and i was happy with the shine it gave...not until one day...i was waxing my bike and my sargent waxing his car...oh man...the shine is totally diff man...just like wat strong eagle say..make you want to lick it...Price do make a big difference in the end product...but if u budget wise like me...any cheap wax will do...turtle wax also quite cheap...all will make ur bike shine...but not like the autoglym though...

actually i saw your thread bout autoglym strong eagle..

and i m seriously tempted to get it

heh

but the price for a non-werking student is kinda a turn off.

guess for a "turning-on and want to lick" kick .. i have to slowly save some money then.

thankz bros

SInce already on this topic. wanted to ask..

---> which 1 better? Turtle wax or Soft99 yah ? ( in terms of shine effect and durability to stand rainy weather )

ps : Btw, today i saw my neighbour wax his car with a shoe wax..... wanted to laugh but... dunno it is a wise thing or.. juzz wanted to save money. later ask him, and he said " Shoes wax giv more shine and last longer than any paint wax." DUnno it is true o not....:giddy:

Interesting...but how sia...polish using shoe wax...btw shoe wax is kiwi right?

Well not sure kiwi or what. But this 1 is not a luquid type shoe wax. Its look like a gel inside a small tin or somthing. Honetsly, i can tell tht his car look kinda shiny hehehe. But dunno if u compare it with a real paint wax though

Btw, his car is black in colour...

Haha don't think it's that one also. But i think it's those that is transparent liquid which i seen somewhere before.

I used soft99 cos my bike shop recommended me. It removed a paint stain which i thought was almost impossible to remove. I will try turtle wax next after i finished with my this bottle.

no .. wax is leaving a gloss finish protective layer

polish is kinda like sanding a thin layer off ur current paintwerk and make it shine i guess.. then later need to add on a layer of something to protect ?

correct me if i m wrong .. :)

The more I ride my SV, the less I care about going to the annual bike show and looking at new,

or expensive, or exotic machinery. I'm continuing to mod my bike into exactly what I want it,

and enjoying every mile I put on it.

I fully agree here ... there is no such thing as cheap yet good ..... Wax is similar to a gem .... the higher you pay the better grades it produce.

One who wants the best outlook .... should pay a premium price for it...

Premium BRand : Swissvax, Zymol, Dodo.

If autoglym is already on the higher end for you then ..... its kinda tough to get good quality outlook.

Unless you want something to just wash and wax for daily use ... then try Motul clean and wash or Plexus

Auto is good but the outlook doesnt really appeal .. you dont get the beading and pearls from water effects. Also the depth of colour is not there at all
