So you girls got yourself a open face helmet with clear visa and psb approved sticker?

And a bandana to tie your hair back so it wont stick into your eyes when the helmet is on?

And a pair of gloves for riding?

Then you will need nice long sleeve cotton tees. Its to prevent sunburns on certain parts of you. Thick jeans to hopefully save you from any scratches. Cover shoes to protect your toes or even help to add height to your toes when you need to tip toe with the bike.

Then last.....bring along a water bottle to draw water from the water dispenser.

if you are not fussy, just tie your hair, wear covered shoes, t-shirt and jeans, bring your orange book and durian seller gloves.

can use the school's smelly helmet and drink straight from the water dispenser.

don't buy the durian gloves from the driving school, the price they charge is daylight robbery.

If we got boys who like to join the Female Riders.

Do recommend them my way. Phuket Thailand do have some really good hospital that can change the sex for a decent price.

Even if every one of the female riders contribute S$1/-.....sure can help these boys achieve their dreams to become ladies.

Oh anyway, should I get a pair of decent gloves instead of using those 'durian gloves' or in my case the ice-skating one?

Can.. any gloves also can.. and yes bobian must wear long sleeve, else suffer wearing their raincoats - I know BBDC do that dunno if other centres also "punish" that way. and if didnt wear covered shoes, they make you wear their PCK boots..

I saw at Cash Converters (AMK branch) selling "motorcycles gloves" at mere $2 a pair.. didnt check the quality though. But find that it looked so 110% better then the durian gloves.

Haha.. Good luck to all babes taking license~~

ssdc can wear short sleeve, so long as there is a sleeve. but then you will become stripy stripy...

at BBDC is those boots that instructors wear when it rains.. that's why I say "punishment".. make u find it difficult so next time can remember to wear own covered shoes.. So now I know why those who "transferred" from SSDC never wear long sleeve when they go BBDC.. haha.. poor friends have to wear raincoat and ride under hot sun.. **and raincoat is super smelly.. **

wah.. ssdc can wear short sleeve?? BBDC strict MUST wear long sleeve or short sleeve with the arm socks as minimum. Then again, it's for safety reasons also.. if fall with short sleeve then that's it.. abbrassion confirm chop will get.. but if long sleeve, may escape with scratches or not so deep abbrassion. and sometimes without a scratch.. Then again.. after get license all safety also sometimes forget... blind spot also sometimes never check, ride also sometimes wear slipper la shorts la tank tops la...

i would suggest you get durian glove 1st. because it's dirt-cheap.

then next time after you pass and get your bike, ride around a bit, then think of buying proper riding gloves.

reason being now you don't have an idea what requirements you might want in a pair of riding gloves, if you buy now you might find that you bought an entry-level pair that now feels inadequate, or you bought a really high-end pair but really can't stand using it for normal riding cause its uncomfortable, hot, impractical etc.

after you pass, then you might have a better idea whether or not to splash out the cash on some good gear

but of course, if you have lots of spare cash lying around, why not.

Hello MoNsTer^. I pm-ed you my request as well.

Teehee currently learning at CDC, just finished my prac 5 ystd in fact. Haiz.. e-trial test tmr and RTT next wednesday. LOL should I just book my prac 6 on Thursday "in faith"?

good luck girls..

keep the other things simple -

  1. helmet (can use centre's one if u choose..i bought my 1st helmet d day before..hehe)
  2. glove
  3. covered shoes
  4. long sleeve
  5. tie ur long hair (its gonna get hot during d noon & irksome at night)

basic things..

  1. prepare ur mind
  2. focus
  3. hear & listen well
  4. never give up
  5. go for it
  6. push aside ur fears
  7. stay calm at all times (never panic)
  8. dont let anyone intimidate u (not the guys taking the lessons nor instructors)
  9. keep an open mind to accept and learn
  10. ENJOY YOURSELVES!! :D

just remember, difficulties are something tat's inevitable..you might fall, etc..but take those difficulties in stride and also as a stepping stone for u to get closer to getting ur license..it's gonna be something different & new to u if u never had the exposure to riding before (either as pillion or *ahem* rider)

so yeah..go out there and get ur license bebs!

oh damn! i juz remembered that i dun hav gloves!!!!!

just buy lorh :)

these things very minor to worry about..chill yah..we ladies here have been thru wat u r gonna go thru..we knw how u feel..take a deep breath and GO FOR IT! :D

what ever u heard, good or bad..put it aside and dun let those things affect u in one way or another..being prepared is def good..taking things in stride with open arms is even better..

elbow and knee guard is needed for the 1st few lessons..no worries..take a deep breath..take the chill pill..and go fo it, yeah:)

normally i think if fall... minor fall for arm usually only elbow area will kena.

if major fall (kena drag on road and burn by road tar that kind)... even if long sleeve, also no use. (unless the long sleeve is leather or mesh la)

my arm scars are all on elbow area

Dunno about CDC, BBDC provides the elbow and knee guards. Remember wearing it only for a few lessons/practicals..

Dunno about CDC, but at BBDC it is a must to wear long sleeve.. Some girls wear tank tops/t-shirts and then wear a cardigan/jacket over it... and once lesson over, they'll take off the cardigan/jacket to cool off..
