suspect the thread spoilt le...:sian:

Heh Mannn!!!...this is bad..real bad!:faint:

May be there is hope butyou have to take it off (the drain bolt). You said it can't tighten...but what about taking it off. If you can't, thake a flat head screw driver and ply (insert it between the bolt head and the base of the engine block) by twisting the screw driver abit to created a downward force. Simultaneously..use a size 17 and turn anti clockwise and see if you can get to the "cross thread" part after a few turn. For all you know...hopefully its the thread of the bolt that is damaged. Check the thread of the bolt and see if its crossed.

B4 doing this....do get a new spare one first for stand by replacement.

Problem like this is usually cause by over tightening or bolt going in at a slight off angle and being 'force' in.

Worst come to worst..may be you can find an oil ring seal as big as the bolt stem and use it as a seal washer to block the leak (did this on a smaller bike before) till you have a pernernant solution.

Good luck mannn!

look at the thread of the bolt le...its fine. So i tink is the thread of the sump cover giving way due to numerous times of loosening n tightening (mine is a 8yrs old spec 1). :sian:

Any ideas how much the cover gonna cost? :giddy:

i just changed engine oil and coolant a month ago...my engine gets heated up very quickly. So i checked the engine oil level and i found out its almost empty...and the coolant level is depleting too....how bad is the situation?

Are there white or or blueish smoke coming out of your exhaust? If not, its likely your engine is overheating and evaporating your oil and coolant and this can be caused by either coolant pump not working.

Check to see if coolant pump is working..take off tank to access to radiator cap..engine off and in room temperature...take off radiator cap..make sure coolant level can be seen at the lip of the radiator opening. Start engine and see if the coolant level runs up and down when you randomly open and close your throttle. If it don't appear top up you see it. Look up for level movement..if there is, your pump is working.

The next thing to know is that your coolant micture may be having too much distilled water in mixture. Make sure mixture ration of glyco is correct.

Saw at Autobac yesterday that "Engine Ice" is on offer at $35.00 (big pack)..they are already premixed so just pour in. If coolant is not working right...engine overheat and takes up the oil.

The above said is what I think..provided that there is no leakage of either eo or coolant. Good lick mannn!

:giddy: Alamak!..if you are sure about that..or may be to be doubly sure..might one to get a new bolt and try with a new one just to be right b4 spending the big $$$s..have to replace gasket and all.

Another innovative aproach is to see if you can find a hardware shop that sell "herical coil" (not easy to find). Its sort of a rethreading like spring that you actually being screw in to replace your internal thread. You have to get one that fits your bolt thread first and screwed it into your sump cover threading. The next time you take off, only the bolt would come off.

Last hope is to find a shop that does rethreading (tapping) and do a rethread and get a replacemet size bolt from them. This is just a suggestion..only machinaru shop does this sort of things.

Yah..that's right...my apology..aiyah....brain cells dying faster than I expected...LOL!

Try the oil ring seal for the interim period lah...it should hold for quite awhile an should be able to handle the pressure.
