Hi all wave rider,

I am wondering is the the Wave fuel injection model worth the extra S$700 as compared to the normal Wave.

Advantages of Fuel injection:

1. Cleaner exhaust emission(Environment friendly)

2. Fuel Economy(about 16% better than normal wave)

3. Faster acceleration (good to have but not essential)

Disadvantages:

1. Advance technology(higher maintainace cost)

2. Smaller fuel tank (3.8L)

In additional, it cost about S$2000 in Thailand. It is feasible to self-import from Thailand.

Wave is indeed the way to go for daily transport.

No, I dun think is worth it. Compare with just normal Wave for ard 2.6k, $700 seem is a lot of $$$. Just add some $$$ u can get Kawasaki 150 liao.

Plus no many shop know how to fix with FI model (need special equipment), if break down then die liao.

I oso think of Wave-i b4, cause the black one look very attractive. :lovestruck:

But end up calculate & calculate again then give up.

1. 4-stroke bike is already environment friendly.

2. How much money u can save from Wave? (1 liter = 30km++)

3. If u want performance bike u won't consider Wave at all.

Correct me if I'm wrong!

Sure or not u want 140km++?

Wave weight is less than 100kg, after speed exceeded 100km++ I feel like almost start floating. When lorry pass by or kena strong wind than damn scare already. :giddy:

Advise that if u really want speed, better get sport bike like Kawasaki 150 or NSR SP150 lah! :cheeky:

Safety come first mah!

not quite true.

a wave with keihin flat slide carb change when raced with a big bored wave is about same top end speed. But the keihin carb wave will have better pick up assuming both bikes' other components are similar.

bigger tires means lesser revolutions n hence lesser speed rite?

anyone can correct me?

bigger tyres = more distance travelled per revolution of yr wheel

assuming the speed of yr chain turning is unchanged by the increased weight of the bigger wheel

yr bike should travel faster :goodluck:

I currently want to buy a wave 125 from a shop for $1.6k. Its a 1 year old bike and im going back next week to view the bike (someone trade in that bike to get another bike). Is it worth the money for a 1 year old bike? Will the bike sitll be under warrenty? Thx in advance.

gd deal for a wave lar

check the condition etc how lor

must not look too old etc lar

at least it's only a 1 year old bike..so it should still be presentable in some sense...

warranty should be provided based on the shop's policy lar...see whether they wan to offer it to u or not lor...as well as how long the period of warranty offered...

The later is quite risky leh!

1. If the new driver kena saman dun pay, then u're still the owner will kena court liao. :giddy:

2. The owner one fine day suddently go crazy already, call police say you steal his bike then u kena jail.

Unless if friend friend Ok lah! Think twice if u dun know the person.

haha

bo bian lar...there's no win-win solution for his case mah

either u choose to share...or u pay more lor

anyway for penalties which involve points deduction...a letter will be mailed to the main rider requesting for rider's particulars etc mah

if the offence really not commited by u...get the other fella to fill in his particulars lor...

and if add subrider...of course must request for at least a photostated copy of the insurance w/ yr name in it mah...w/ the paper...there's not really a cause for worry lar :cheeky:

but bottom line is.....trust!

IMO...not worth it

carburettor model is already fuel efficient as it is

for me...i pump 2nd grade petrol....full tank $4 nia...

transfer that into cents...how much more can u save on petrol using a FI model?

might as well save that few hundreds of dollar required for a FI model to buy petrol + parts for a carb model right?

moreover...servicing a FI model is gonna cost more than carb model....and not every motordiam out there have the means to service a FI engine

and er...unless u r really such a environmental friendly person...is less exhaust emission really a valid reason to get FI model?

face it...if u r gonna ride a bike..u r gonna contribute to some of that carbon monoxide pollution ard already...haha...so there's really no need to pretend to be an angel and start wondering if lesser monoxide is gonna help..

fuel consumption = good

maintenance = cheaper compared to 2stroke bikes...also dependant on the quality of products u use...engine oil etc

market price 1st hand ard 3k

2nd hand $2+k depending on yr luck

i still dun belive by changing the carb can made the bike go to 140km/h.

i myself did made my bike go to 130km/h before... but its oni the speedo mistake.. when i try wif other wave, thiers oni 115km/h while my show 130km/h

even wave can go 140km/h, pls remember, our bike only has 4 gears. dragging the 4th till 140km/h, IMO is not going to do ur bike any good in the long run. Chain and sproket may wear out faster if u using original ones. if u want fast and not so siong maintainance, should get Y125z in the first place..:thumb:

small bikes usually show higher speed on the speedo than big bikes. My friend Super 4 showed 110kmh when my wave shows 145kmh. Another factor is also the change in front sprocket size that affects the speedo accuracy.
