Wah lan erhhhh .... upon further inspection.... after removing my sexy tank bra ... noticed that my tank got two deep indent due to the fall caused by that delivery truck. Went Idac to do the neccessary inspection and report then I went to JB... came back and realised that my right handle bar assembly is loose... thought may the screw loose becos of the ealier fall... but went straight to my bike shop and the mech told me the "catch" inside it probably snapped... I dunno real or not, but what the heck... my sexy fuel tank got two indent ...

I am going to claim that "Barg ger" ... till he is left with his underwear. Of cos with the assistance from my bike shop. Overall damage assessment is >$1000.... main cost goes to the fuel tank=$900

Yup new tank. I dun believe in repairing the tank by knocking and respraying. Sorry that I am bad hearted .... but it's totally none of my fault that caused this to happen. The person who bang into my bike and three other bikes have to pay the price for his neglection.

I treasure my bike and I want it to be like itself in whole again. Hope you understand.

even if we don't claim, next time we bang ppl, even small dent, they also wanna change whole bumper.. (if benz, 1 bumper can cost up to 10k) how i know, bcos my fren knocked one b4..

unless the insurance company do something their own, to say which type change, which 1 repair only.. else if we can change, sure get new 1..

but, i heard the insurance are clever now, if one mirror spoilt, they will pay 1 mirror, 1 tyre rim spoil, they will pay 1 tyre rim even if u got 4 wheels for a car.. so u need to pay for other 3 wheel rims

cyrix,

keep the old parts as spare.. :)

For claiming against the other party... my bike shop intend to do a direct claim from the driver's insurance. This is roughly what he told me...

He(mech) will assess my bike and give a detail breakdown of the cost for all the parts that he is going to change for me. A surveyor from IDAC will come down and assess my bike according to the mech assessment. He is the one who will approve of the repair and claims. With the approval from IDAC surveyor, the bike shop is able to claim direct from the driver's insurance company.

As I have said... as much as I like to sympathise the driver for his careless mistake... I am still going to claim ONLY those parts that are damaged by this incident. I will not be going too far out to "gang" with the bikeshop to incur more charges or new "items" which are not on my bike already. All I want is to get my bike back to it's original shape once again.

As for those parts that are being replaced... I will try to get them back as spares. Wonder how to carry the old fuel tank back home?

Have you tried oiling the gear levers? Did you "disturb" the clutch settings?

What EO did you change? What is the SAE Rating?
