wat potential issues??? our swingarm is wide enough... ur 400 chain is thin enuf to avoid rubbing with the edge of the tyre...

so wat potential issues on ur 400?? care to share??

furthermore, why would u wanna use 190?? 180 is good enuf for 400..

190 is slightly heavier and wider.. reduce weight bro...

during my time with my R1, i was using 180, not 190...

The potential issues were from the thread given by Razi.

It says that it could affect the handling characteristics of the bike if the rims were not designed to fit a 190 tyre. More can be seen here http://www.sportrider.com/tech/tires/146_0206_tire_size/index.html Nonetheless, I wanted to get 190 because there was a pair selling at a pretty low price, so I thought it was worthwhile if it could fit my gsr. :cheeky:

Better get the more popular ones. Tires got expiry date one. Get the freshest ones are the best.

Reason for offering lower price is because of 1 thing.....clear stock.

Hi Kampfer,

Dun save your money on tyres... it's the one of the most important part of our bike. Get a good one that suit your needs and it will save you, your lifes and monies(prevent accident!). For merely a few hundreds more, get a brand new decent tyre.

I am not promoting any tyres... but I like to share the one I am using now. It is called Metzeler Roadtec Z6 INTERACT.

It is good for local road + wet weather(it has deep grooves). It is also for sport touring... so it is supposed to be long lasting. Price is at $420.

If you decide to get older tyres like Strada, Pilot, etc... please check the tyres yourself to see the manufacturing dates(AKA.. the DOT code). It is on the side of the tyres. See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tire_code for details.

Hey thanks for all the advice you guys =).. Rest assured I know better then to pick a pair of hardened and old tires ^^.. I intend to see if I can find a pair of pilot road 2s.. if not perhaps I'll give your recommendation a go =).

This is just for people who intend to get a second hand tyre or tyres that the shop recommend them to get... you never know if the shop is trust worthy or not.

Yes... I do check the Dot code before they install it on my bike... even if I knew the tyres are new in the market. This is just me... I am always cautious for things. ;)

A better question to ask .. is that ... if anyone ever do pre-ride check regularly? Check signal light... check tyre pressure... check brake... etc? Well... I do.

So, does that makes me special than the rest? Hahaha... maybe I am too KiaSee(afraid to die in hokkien)... but then again, I do that to be safe as I have two kids to feed at home. :)

I think I will do that next tyre check.. I normally only make sure the NEW tyre is a NEW tyre, that's all..

aiyoh brother...u should read properly on the link u gave la...:faint:

Super4, size 150..some use 160...

b-king bikes are on 220, but there are riders who use 200 or 210...

it all depends on the rider... for 1st yr on my r1 i was using 190, for 3yrs i used 180. still went for track still went for touring.. its the characteristic profile of 180 i prefer..

usually 190 is for higher CC, they need more contact due to the power they have..

dont go coz the price is cheap. like they all mention look at the manufactured date.

if anyone wants to sponsor for me 190, i fixed it on my bike, to prove that our rims can use 190...BUT i still prefer 180.......
