Mr Ahmad bin Lispa, whose family was featured in the first season of MediaCorp Channel 5's RenovAID, was killed in a freak accident yesterday (16 July 2010).

If you have read the news: a crane mounted on a lorry belonging to a landscape management company, smashed through a double-decker bus along Bedok North Road yesterday afternoon.

The casualties: 1 dead, 2 in intensive care, 6 outpatients.

He leaves behind his wife and four sons, 2 of which has kidney failure/problems, and the youngest son still in primary school. He was the sole breadwinner of his family.

I met the family while working at my current company, they were the first episode I worked on while attached to RenovAID, and coincidentally, they are my block neighbours as well.

If you have seen the family having their dinner, you would feel drenched in sin. Dinner for them, most days of the week, is cabbage soup and 1 tin of sardine split 6-ways with rice.

Remember Charlie and the Chocolate Factory? Cabbage soup is what Charlie's family had everyday, because they could barely afford anything better. That day, as I watched them having dinner, something tugged at my heartstrings.

Their monthly income is barely 1k in a month, and this is with Mr Ahmad, putting in hours of OT at his cleaning job. With him now gone, his wife - Mdm Rokiah, really needs financial help to carry on.

The least I can do as a neighbour, is to help them raise funds, which can hopefully help to ease her burden.

Imagine the person in the accident was someone dear to you, imagine this person is your pillar of emotional and financial support - how would you carry on?

Please do your part to help this family, because the little that you give today, could be money for an entire weeks' meals, a son's school fees or fees for the kidney dialysis machine.

The water got into the foot gear lever. Use lubricant to oil it up lor.

As for clutch..you biting point too close. Adjust the clutch tension lor.

From the description given, I guess you are not familiar with basic checks and maintenance of the bike. Dun fret, not too late to learn.

wa.. No stock or they are not bringing in new ones any more? I know, I bought mine from loois.

Current ride - Gilera ST200 (April 2011-present)

Previous rides - Suzuki GSR 400 (31 March 2008 - 2011)

Assumption is mother of all all ****-ups! :cheers :-P

yup new.

Anyway, i hope some bros here can help shed some light in something i have been experiencing. i notice that when i accelerate, there seems to be a "lag" from my throttle to actual acceleration. Anyone have this problem before? I just noticed it recently. i happened most prominently on gear 4, whack open throttle, bike accelerate slowly and den surges forward as if on nitro! is it normal??

My guess is you are at too low of a RPM. I used to have that problem when I tried to accelerate at low RPMs on high gear, now I changed my riding style to change gear at higher RPMs. I can't say at how much but I did it when the feeling comes, I usually keep to higher gears as I can't really stand dragging them.

Another thing could be the EFI? All FI bikes have a "herky jerky" problem that when you closes the throttle and open it again, there will be a slight retardation and a sudden jerk forward which is very unpleasant for smooth riding. A slight adjustment of the Primary TPS is the solution for it but there are reports that this does not work, though it worked perfectly for me, I'm happily cruising about without the irritating jerks!

geez, you actually had the patience to get to the TPS?! man, I quit fiddling once I realised I had to get the throttle bodies out in order to adjust the TPS. upz for ya! salut. Or is there some alternative method to get at it?

Smile! Tomorrow will be worse.

Not necessarily. Done mine and others without lifting out any major components. Patience, correct tools, and ladies fingers are all that you need hahah. Adjust too much, you will lose engine braking, Adjust too little, the jerk will be a jerk.
