Hey buddy! Thanks for your reply. Im aged 26 riding for 7 years. The special edition GSR is the one with 61 hp up 8 hp from the normal one. Other than that no big diff I guess (a few months newer FBD plate). Thats all...what you think? Interest at 6% looking to take 4 yr loan. Any suggestions?

I got it back in 2007 and it cost me $860 together with the 30L panniers. Now I don't know how much they cost. Give m-technik a call.

thanks for the reply !

12k OTR 1st hand or? for your age and riding years? too expensive!! As for the special edition you were saying I think it's the ABS version? (not sure) 6% interest rate is fine for me personally i don't know people might have better lobangs, lets just leave out the OTR price, I got my FBB GSR400 at 8.6k machine price

Check it out which year is the bike. Only 09 and above are 61hp and have rev limits till 16k.

Getting a bike, it'll depends on your budget. No use taking such a long loan if you cannot afford.

Since you need it urgently, open up your options. Look around for other bikes, they might be more suited to your needs and budget.

Check out the condition of the bike, ask them to start the bike and listen to it. Any accessories on the bike?

Also, do ask the insurance companies to quote you your insurance before you rush to the shop to get the GSR. Look for quotations from other bike shops too. Saw that Loois have at least 6 GSRs on sale, so check them out.

Hey bro..yea actually the shop im referring to is Loois lol! They used to have many GSR but now only left 2 - 1 LE and one normal - yeap the RPM goes up to 16k for the LE. As for the loan and payment, i can afford to pay for it actually without feeling the pinch but just dont wanna be paying so much if its not worth it thats why popped in here for advise if the price is reasonable. As for accessories, nope the bike comes in original condition and as for the sound and mileage I have yet to check as Mr Lee told me that they removed all the bike battery so cannot check unless very keen on getting the bikes. Any idea how I can work around to get them to show me the mileage and also to startup the bike?

Thanks for all the advise peeps! Great folks here!

Oh, mine was 2nd hand too from a shop at toh guan enterprise hub, can try hunt at Speedway, saw 1 sweet looking GSR there last month.

Anyway since you said you need a bike urgently, you might want to open up your choices eg. Super 4? Plenty of them around. But still it would be good if you manage to find a decent GSR soon!

Rubbish. I went there with another GSR member just last week Wednesday. I saw 4 GSRs outside and 2 on level 3. Mr Lee even told me he have 2 more inside storage.

09 model is not limited edition. It is just a revision done on the 08 model. In any case, the 09 model is slightly heavier and thus making the power/weight ratio almost equal. Just get the 08 model.

Original condition and 12k? That's daylight robbery. Might as well get mine as I'll be selling it soon.

Go look around at other shops. You might get better quotes.

Also, your budget seems tight. Remember, for a 2nd hand bike, you do need to factor in repair and replacement costs. Not just maintenance of bike and loan costs.

I haven't got that yet bro, don't quite like the shape of it, guess i'll have to bear with the wind resistance and look for other kind of wind shields to retro fit on our bikes!

Yup maintenance is a factor you must take note, less than 6 months since I took over my GSR, things that I've replace: rear brake rotor and pads, tires, sprocket and chain. Things that is going to done: timing chain, valve clearance, front brake rotors, brake lines and pads,

These are the basic maintenance that must be done, haven't add in the accessories yet... Faint

I feel Louis motor GSRs are super overpriced. I went there before i bought my GSR at Bike Production, was quoted 8.8k machine price.

Now happily riding for close to 3 months.

The FBC plate mileage is at 40k++km. (maroon in color). Was there 2 wks back only have 1 FBC plate there, so guess thats the one u're referring to. You Might wanna have a closer look at the bike though.

And their bikes abit pricey for me in my opinion.

Try speedway toh guan. Saw one there. Bukit merah FBB plater 9k+..

Guys a quick question, if one fine day you're gonna change your sprockets and chain, which sprocket brand and number of teeth for the rear would you prefer and why?

1. Driven

2. Afam

3. Supersprox

Very headache now, friend A says AFAM sprockets are very 'soft' hence not lasting.

Friend B says supersprox 's material are harder hence heavier and more lasting.

Like this how?!!!!

Went down to x-perfomance (JB) today.. Saw a guy riding R6 doing maintenance work on his bikes and there were also a few big bikes around the shop. I think the R6 was changing his EO as I can see the mech was draining his old EO. Have any of you guys done servicing over there? Do you guys recommend doing basic servicing eg. change EO / spark plug?

Sorry no offense bro... But I bought mine at Looi's.. I'm happy to deal with them partly because of the way MR Lee treated me as soon as I step into the shop (very very nice guy).. Was able to mix and match parts from other GSR including a yoshimura tri-oval pipe!! Regarding the price, I was able to nego with him and I was a happy man ever since..

Sometimes I'd rather pay a little more, and ride without worries.

Not from shop though, from owners who take good care of their bikes.

None. Stick to stock sprockets, they are made of steel. Get DID chain though, O or X-rings. Though if you can get your hands on AFAM Steel Sprockets, they are good or even better than OEMs as OEMs are pretty darn heavy!

The above mentioned sprockets are made of Aluminium, of what grade, I do not know. AFAM sprockets are trusted all over the world and Supersprox are pretty reputable themselves, the only issue being Driven.

Read that Driven has okay reviews but I'm not really sure, rather stick with AFAM. Once, I've seen a totally worn out Driven Sprocket at planet motors, the teeth were basically gone.

If you want, you can increase the size of the front sprocket by one tooth, it'll correct the error on your speedo.

Basically increasing size of front sprocket and decreasing size of rear sprocket will allow greater acceleration and slightly higher fuel economy at the expense of torque.

Decreasing front and increasing rear will result in the opposite, people loves torque.

More importantly, changing the size by 1 on the front sprocket is equivalent to 3 on the rear.

DIY. Simple job, really. Anyway, don't you rather do in Singapore since it is nearer as well as a simple job. Thing is though, do they have the EO and Spark plug you require?

The GSRs needs NGK CR8EK which is a dual tip, the single tip CR8E will work but not as good as dual tip, so watch out too.

I bought my bike from Loois. Clean pricing and clean, hassle free installments.
