Hi guys! I was about to hit the highway this morning, then my bike died at the 4th gear! OH MY GOD, luckily managed to get out of the way. The bike shows CHEC sign. I turn engine stop switch on/off doesnt help much. about to go to bike shop in 10 mins time... my friend accompanying me. I am typing this on the go... sianzzz... see what the bike shop says. any input bros?

Hard to say man. No jerk or anything before the bike died? Sufficient gas inside tank? Did you have any voltmeter on your bike?

Hi all bros. Alright just returned from workshop. Went to planet to see ah chong. He narrowed the diagnosis down to 2 parts: either the key got problem (like the rf chip got problem or smthing) or the right assembly (the engine stop switch) got problem. I was refering to the GSR600 owner's manual, and even inside it, they mention that if you see the "CHEC" sign, which what happened to me, it could be either the engine stop switch or the worse case scenario is the ignition fuse and connection of lead wire couplers ( i donno what the hell is all this, i just copying what i am reading from the manual).

 

So far journey from my house @ woodlands to ubi planet bike survived, only died the moment I reached planet's doorstep. Ah chong checked and played around with the right assembly. So far when I rode back home, it's alright. Hopefully everything is OK. This morning was REALLY DAMM SCARY cause imagine bike suddenly no power while cruising.

 

Worse come to worse, probably have to use my spare key or fabricate new key. How much is the right assembly if want to buy new one? Should be cheap right since only have engine stop switch and ignition button on it?

First thing though, check your fuses and ignition wiring.

 

Then check the connection and wiring for the engine stop switch. It is unlikely the key would have issues due to RFID is on the receiving end of signals, no electronic input required.

 

Heh, could be the immobiliser!
