Ohh ya speaking of RFID chip on the key, just remembered. Do you have any other devices like thumbdrives, dongles or magnetic stuff on the bunch of keys? Those things might interfere with the immobilisers.

First thing though, check your fuses and ignition wiring.

Then check the connection and wiring for the engine stop switch. It is unlikely the key would have issues due to RFID is on the receiving end of signals, no electronic input required.

Heh, could be the immobiliser!

I'm a complete nut case when it comes to servicing bikes. Anyway, will try my best to see what I can do to rectify the issue. Will post my updates here. Anyway bro, so now you suspect might be the 'immobiliser' as well huh? hmmm...

Anyway ya as I was asking, anyone has any idea where I can purchase the right assembly (engine stop switch + ignition button + throttle) that part at locally?? Anyone change before. Big help bros!!

hi guys, wanted to check something abt a 07 gsr600. considering getting one which i saw at a shop earlier. its Red but the frame is black. claimed to be a stock bike colour.

was googling ard for the specs n review of this bike actually but realised for 07 gsr6 doesn't have such a combination. All the pics i see online are Red tank n tail cowling with silver/grey frame. the 08 ones with the black frame comes with also the endcan black too.

so any such combi for a red tank n rear cowling with a black frame?

Yamaha LC 125 03/02 - 04/03

Yamaha RXZ 03/03 - 04/05

Suzuki Bandit VV 04/05 - 02/06

If you are worried about the model not being 07, just tell the bikeshop uncle to open the seat compartment. On the right side of the battery or above the battery if you are standing on the left side of the bike, there is a sticker that indicates the year. E.g "GSR600K7" or "GSR600K6". The "K6" or "K7" indicates the model year.

Anyway, from 05 to 08, there are no significant revisions to the GSR6.

Guys, fibre glass or titanium exhaust wrap from headers to belly, what do you all think? Any comments?

To me....long term usage, will crack the exhaust pipes. Imagine the heat got no where to run except one hole from the back. So burn burn burn metals. Those races are different, they got sponsors so if pipes no good, they can change easily. hahaha... I'd prefer to keep my pipes shiny. My thoughts only hor.

actually abt the combination of the black frame with red colour i wanted to confirm of such a combination as the shop claims original stock paint accident free etc.

so since i cldn't come across such a colour combi thts y i was asking to confirm if there is such a original colour with black frame for a k7. if there is not means something is fishy.

If I remembered correctly the 600 didn't come with black frames. Only those Japanese 400s came with black frames.

rien d'autre que le max.

Oh, I didn't know exhaust wrap will do harm to it, looks like I have no other choice but to polish the brownish headers I have now :(

Bro if I'm not wrong those are for rim balancing. Usually if u do wheel balancing, the mech will add those on to increase the weight so that it is balanced :-) think u can go any bikeshop to add on or redo the balancing.

Amazed that the weight plates can actually flew off and that shows how much the quality is there the shop that did it for you, as for adding back the plates you will need to re balance to determine the spot of where the plates will be, labour charges itself might cost

well, i beg to differ, been using lava wrap for almost 1 1/2 year with no issues, only improvement on performance... the metal will only crack if its made from titanium or steel pipe that never derusted and coated with high temp...

Not saying that wrapping is not good. But ppl should be aware of what is happening when wrapped. Found this in a HD forum (http://www.hdforums.com/forum/general-harley-davidson-chat/775333-will-exhaust-wrap-rot-my-pipes.html)

"Physics applies.

The pipes will be hotter than before the wrap. That is the purpose of the wrap - retain heat inside the pipes. The hotter the exhaust gases the more velocity they have. More velocity may (other things involved) result in more power as the cylinder can be evacuated faster.

Next part of the physics is what alloy the pipes are made of. The steel, usually a mild alloy (1010) will oxidize from the heat. The hotter the pipe the more oxidation that happens. Oxidation means losing material - the pipes will weigh less than when new. At some point they'll be too thin to hang together.

Next physics part is that I've read somewhere (can't remember where, so gots nothing to "ratify" this) that the higher temp will cause carbon to migrate out of the steel, and cause the steel to become brittle.

Practical - I've wrapped several sets of pipes. I did it because I liked the look, and because the pipes I had were rusted, scratched, dinged, and I'm a cheap bastid. When the wrap was later removed the pipes were in worse condition than when first wrapped. They were severely pitted in a couple areas that had been in less than pristine shape originally.

If you wrap pipes, do it with the expectation that the wrap will cause the pipes to degrade more rapidly than otherwise. At least with that in mind you won't be disappointed."

Another from http://www.kzrider.com/forum/2-engine/498360-exhaust-wrap-insulator-or-cooler

"I can't see how it would change in results.

The wrap is meant to insulate the headers and prevent heat from escaping (radiating) from the headers. This should essentially move more of the heat away from cylinder head before it escapes which should prevent some of the radiant heat effect in the top end of the engine.

That said, since there is so much air moving around the engine I'm not sure to what amount this actually will make a temperature difference.

I do know, however, that exhaust wrap will likely promote rust on your exhaust headers. This is not an issue on a race bike where the wrap would likely be changed each race, but can be very problematic on a street bike."
