why not just bring the bike to a mechanic to check? noise from the chain may not be because its loose.. there r other reasons too.. it could be the front or rear sprockets have worn off (very sharp teeth).. or the chain itself is already gone case... the chain should be very straight and not have any 'kinks'.. .. maybe just get the mechanic to tighten the chain 1st, lube well, and ride to see if the noise is still around.. if the noise persists.. then maybe u should start replacing the parts mentioned above..

yea bro, wil send it to the mechanic on monday or tuesday to have them tighten the chains first. Previous owner didn't tell me he got parking fines, now i scared bike got some problem, then jialat liao, sian man. Appealing to HDB and URA for it, dunno can successful or not leh :(

Been doing research on gsr 400 and s4... Tru Wikipedia, they state's that gsr is much heavier... Dry weight of 210kg.... While s4 is only 170kg.... Is it really that heavy?? Cos just upgraded from 2b... Therefore very curious about the change in weight of motorbike.... Care to share, is it true?

bigger and heavier.... Cos my height is only 1.65m.... Pretty short guy.... I'm just afraid I cannot reach the ground when sitting on the gsr.... Haiz...

i just got mine on Friday, and its definitely higher than the super 4 revo at SSDC. I'm 1.74m and im tip toing a little, compared to my previous phantom where my feet was totally on the ground. The weight takes a bit of getting used to, rather honestly. Like if im on a slope, i think im a goner, its really heavy to reverse it. Still getting used to it. But yea, it looks more aggressive and dun really see it that often on the roads i guess.

no la bro, tip toe but the upper half of the feet is still on the floor. Its not as bad as a scrambler. I can let u try sitting on it if u want to test and see, no problem with that, if im in the area. Im always in the yishun or jurong area (NTU)

To be honest... Would gsr 400 be underpowered due to its heavy weight?

heard in terms of power not comparable with super 4 spec III or whatever not, but i guess the power is enough for me. enough to over take cars and etc better than the phantom. well im not a power junkie la so gotta depend. my riding experience not a lot, so havent seen a lot of bikes, this bike is sufficient ba.

The GSR is not that heavy once you get it moving. Just go for the bike that you like most, if power is of concern, then don't go for 400cc. 1000cc should fit the bill.

Else, S4 and GSR are all 400cc road bikes, how fast do you wanna go on it? How fast can you even measure that minuscule difference between the bikes' power?

Talk bout height? 1.65m and you cannot make it? You're looking for trouble, man. If a 1.58m guy is able to ride the GSR, why not you?

Look at the handling too. The bike is pretty stable and have good handling. Underpowered? Try riding one, you'll see the power of the bike. Heavy, yes but the torque makes up for the weight. Rider's weight plays a part too.

In fact, in my books, top speed is a non-essential quality from torque and handling.

Either way, come for meetups and you'll learn more about the bike. All them googling too much is bad for your riding health. Deeming the bike to be unsuitable even before you look at the real thing and meet up with people who have been with the bike for years.
