hhaha...if i were you, i wouldn't wanna listen to the one sided story of the so called "so much riders out there who warned you abt this thread".

that is unless they followed the debate (it's not a fight anyway) when it started nong nong ago. Which i doubt they did!!!

well...for the thread closing issue, it's down to only one person who have the "authority" to close it. but i have no comments anymore on it.

and i can assure you that the riders in here are one of the friendliest pple i have hung out with. if you intend to be active in this thread, join us on outings (be it big or small) and get to know us on a more personal level. see and molest our bikes, know the lastest mods in town and so on. that's how i started out also.

the ball is in your court now.

Sounds good. Will definitely bring my friend to the outing real soon. Like what I've said, his more of an introvert. But I hope he meet more people and open up a little more =D

And I agree and believe its better to know people more when meeting up rather than online. Some just talk loud online, but in real, they are very nice...

Btw, is it alright for non GSR to meet up? I'm not riding a GSR, though will love to.

good morning bros ... so long never post liao here ... hehehe...been lying low and reading the post... so did not post anything becos nothing to talk about ..

but now I am posting becos ... I just met with a small mishap on the road ... or should I say ... small junction...

Anyway... just wanna let bros to know... the main frame slider really is very useful ... :D ... if not for it ... my bike would have been disfigured...

Anyway... it happened at a bend(left turn) which leads to major road... there was this S4 rider in front of me ... stopped and checking for traffic on the right side... I stopped behind him... and also checked for traffic on the right... then I check front again... I saw him revving his bike about to speed off .. and I saw his bike actually moving .. but suddenly he jammed his bike ... I was following him... moving but too near to stopped and hit his butt ... and as we know... GSR is damn sumo weight ... so I have to lean sideway and fell on my left... luckily my slider saved my bike from being scratched... but my clutch lever is kinda bended a little ... sigh ... today marks my first "accident" with my baby ...

Thank God ... it's just minor...

Next time ... I dun care liao ... just wack the bike and push the fellow forward... anyway... the road is clear of vehicle on the major road ... so I dun see why he need to jam his brake ... arrghhh ... till now ... my anger still flaming hot .... if not for the rain ... I would have exploded in front of that damn rider ...

Nah we dun look at colours....all are welcome anyway. In our mist, we have 1 GSX rider, 1 Kawa Kups and 1 grasshopper,so far that are common to see in most of our outings...hahahha. Anyway we get together to exchange ideas and not to create havoc.

Juz come down....you maybe tempted to change to GSR as well hahahah. We are 'poisonous' people hahaha.

Die!! I think you need to change to Titax Levers already hahahah. Anyway cool down...anything damaged on bike can be repaired...but damaged done on urself is not easily repaired. Be grateful it may be a blessing in disguise. Maybe time to change to racing levers heheheh.

Maybe I should change to clutchless system ... :D ... like those auto scooter... :D

Anyway .. yah... I am glad that it's only the clutch lever and little scratch on the left main frame slider and the end piece(I think it is called balancer) of the left handle bar. This is my first time dropping my bike ... haiz ...

Racing lever and normal lever got different meh? Racing lever is faster to clutch in huh? Ever since I change to GSR ... my left hand gripping power is much much stronger liao ... hahaha... can grap a watermelon with just my left palm ... hahaha.. just kidding. Anyway... I uses halve clutch riding very often... so my left hand tends to be very tired... (dare not use my left hand to PCC anymore... hahaha.... scared might get over excited and squeezed the living hell out of my di di .. lolz)

Ok ok I admit...i'm not THAT skillful.. (I just make my pillion do it for me)

If any rider out there wants to learn, its as simple as cheekily telling ur pillion to pretend you guys are driving, and practice pulling the handbrake.

The above mentioned activity is not limited to only female pillions. (I'm not one to discriminate.)

Today is the first time that my sayang is being exposed to rain. Went to give her a good wipe down during lunch time just now.

Any advise on certain rust-prone areas or secret water puddle collection areas to pay more attention to on a GSR? (Apart from the welding joint areas under the seat which Suzy has already pointed out to me).

Thanks buddies.

The bike likes to keep sand on its hugger....point to take note and buy a soft-tip brush to clear the sands...and screws may rust so can take a look at them from time to time.

Tips to clear the sand from your hugger ... when you are doing cornering .. shake shake a little on your rear and the sand will drop off ... :p

Just joking ... dun ever try that ...

Yea... it's true that the hugger indeed is a bowl for collecting gravel and sand... I am now collecting the sand ... hopefully by end of the month can build a sand castle from the sand collected... hahaha

As for metal area that rust ... I treasure my handle bar alot ... everytime when rain or even when not raining ... I will use my cloth to wipe it with GT84 or WB40 ... becos I have bad experience with my old bike Phantom TA200 ... the handle bar rusted so badly ... :(

Also being advised by Racewerk to spray on the engine starter motor... the one on the right side of your bike .. below your fuel tank... there is a metal area... look a further inside it and you can see a small connecting area... (I wish I can show you a photo of it... maybe I will take a pic of it someday)... words from the horse mouth .. is that the connecting piece is metal.. and if rusted.. your bike might have problem starting...

To me ... it's a monthly affair for me to clean all the exposed metal parts.. from front end.. to rear end... from handle bar .... to rear signal light assembly...

I think you should consider where to lub as well ... buy a can of good metal lub ... spray on your brake lever(press your brake and spray in between the joints) and clutch lever(same as brake lever) ... also on your bike stand... clutch lever(dunno what it is called... the one you use to kick up or down your gears)- may help kick change your gear smoother :D ...

Those are to me .. my own opinion... maybe those more exp bro can share their tips and trade to maintain their bike at tip top condition :D

If all else fail ... use your bike for one month .. then sell off and get a new GSr again... keep repeating and you will always ride a brand new ...clean .. speak and spike GSR :D

Cheers...

yah ur right about the sand on the hugger. it looked like an ant-hill perched nicely in that little crevasse. noted. thanks Razi.

i think earlier in this thread, there was mention about spraying lube onto the engine starter motor... isit the silver thingy on the right side of the engine that resembles a tin can? I'll try to look out for that connecting area you mentioned. Spraying with WD-40 will do?

I'm getting paranoid about my handle bar, forks, and brake discs getting rusted, especially the little nooks, crannies, nuts and bolts. :/

maybe i'll drop by the next time you're on '"Operation Easy Off Bang", and watch you do a live demonstration. Then after you're done with yours, you can do mine. :D (For demonstrative and mutual educational purposes of course)

Eh kiddin ok. Don't hantam me. lol.
