i personally recommend to spend on such safety related items...

yes, I guess if you have a full yoshi system and run around at such speeds, you need all the stopping power you can get.

Nice hoses Lass, feel any diff? Is it steel braided?

Khoo, sorry no India trip for me this week, going Downunder instead.

suppose to improve on your braking response of the bike.

me ah, scrubbed her at washing bay and use water to splash loh. not as fortunate to hv a hose to spray all over hehe

________

keiyong : no lah! i dun hv a FS, just a 2nd hand end can only! hehe

thanks. still testing the brakes and yes steel braided.

Well, every little bit does help, not tmention they look great.. Stopping power is important jsut as important or maybe even more important than engine power.

Reason why it improves braking is that normal rubber hoses tend to "balloon" under high pressure and this reduces the amount of pressure transmitted to your brake calipers resulting in reduced braking capailty therefore increasing stopping distances. Steel braiding prevents this ballooning and so all the pressure you apply goes straight into your calipers. Just my two cents on the theory

i need ur opinions on my bike pick up especially after traffic light stops .. i am still doing the run in .. i change my gear after my rpm hits t .. is it normal to feel tat the bike is kinda slow when pick up ?

Hey Qaihonda, I have the exact same thoughts too.

Bike feels kinda slow on pickup, maybe partly I never throttle enough... scared spoil the engine, so thats why car behind me always change lane and speed up. hehe.

Another reason is because I rarely ride beyond the 80km/h speed barrier. And you could feel it is slow because we never drag the gear enough before shifting up.

Btw, what do you mean by "rpm hits t...?"

yup...hehe guy knows best when it comes to technical stuff like tat

__________

khookahkiat : hmm i think it's a typo cos t is kinda near to 5 or 6 on the keyboard which is reasonable. shd try not to go beyond 6rpm while running in.

slow in pick could oso mean tat u r not used to the clutch & throttle yet. otherwise, change to aft mkt exhaust, shd improve ur pick up :D

i went down to have my bike installed with belly pan and rear huggers. was quoted 110 after much bargaining. however, it still seem expensive when all i am paying is plastic parts! and i'm in the frigging plastics business and i know how dirt cheap this sh*t is!!!!

anyways i heard that scottoiler is very dirty and messy one. how true is that auntie lass?

where is the brake hose? why u wanna change? pls enlighten me also? thanks!

:cheeky:

wonder how it looks with belly pan..care to post a picture of your bike with the expensive plastic?

Look at it this way, your bike redline at 13000rpm and you using max of 5K, that's less than half of the available rpm so sure feels a little sluggish, For running in, I was told by a friend in the automotive world that as a guide, use max of 60% of available rpm for the running in period. Also avoid running for prolonged periods at constant rpm, so taking an 800km ride to KL is not a good way of running in, but if you do have to do that make constant stops , every 50km recommended.

Lastly, the owners manual simply states to "avoid rapid accelerations".

the biting point. for me am super klutz so it took me a while to try to pick up better. i hv to say tat am still lousy at it hehe but for me so long as can move can already

then again, uncle keiyong is better w the technical bits. btw, how about the breaking in of the brakes?

hmm perhaps less than 200 including installation for HEL and Venhill. For Plot and Goodridge, they will fall in the range of about 250.

_______

by the way, anyone interested to MO the fork slider? 70 bucks per pair unless can get 10 sets, price is 65.

 eh, don;t say like that la, we all know a bit here and there and that is why we are in this forum to share with and learn from each other right?

cluth work is actually very simple. Remember that once the gear engages you do not need it anymore as long as you hae sufficient rpm...like when you do figure of eight during your test, it's clutch free right?(don't know if it's still the same as I did mine before most of you were born!) So just rev your engine, release clutch smoothly but rapidly ( the moment you feel the gear engage, release clutch all the way) and accelerate as quickly and as much as you want.

Enjoy! :giddy:

hehe no lah cos it's true tat my technical know hows is rather poor plus i hate reading manuals

abt clutch work, i think it's about getting the rite biting point so that u can get ur bike to pick up w/o over rev-ing as well. sometimes i still hv tat problem as well 'cos too kan chiong want to move off. worse is forgot that i hv engaged neutral...rev bit no move, sound loud loud...wah v malu!

____

just re-bleed my brakes and hope the response is better. apparently there was a leakage cos the copper nuts were not tighten enough and still got some bubbles left in the hose.

:cheeky: i safe rider (or in a more direct way, kia si)... even with the full system still ride at my normal speed.

actually, dunno if you believe or not, my main reason for changing to full system is that i dun like to see my header get rusty and too lazy to take out to respray... kekeke...

but then of course there are other side supporting reasons... kekeke...

theory aside... think you yourself have to play and get familiar with your bike and how it respond... and i believe after a while, you'll get used to it.

my favourite drag stretch is CTE exist AMK ave 1 towards boundary road; straight road with gentle slope. you get roughly 1.2km before the next traffic lights... will 'clear carbon' there when in the mood too... kekekeke...

actually, i will agree with keiyong that the most powerful part of the bike is actually the braking system rather than the engine cos for the time you need to accelerate, you probably need less time to deccelerate...

i always tell myself that i have still have alot of things i wanted to do in my lifetime... i am really not about trade that in with some moments of excitement...

but still i do take calculated risk on the NSHW... :cheeky:

i cant really say to get or not to get a FS... it is really a matter of personal preferred and fiancial condition...

my FS is actually a second hand one... previous owner only used it for 3 months, condition is really good and i managed to shave off more than half a grand... too good an offer to resist...
