Hey bro tt6389,

Wah, luckily nothing happen to you... Hope you are alright... BTW, nice crash guard... but so expensive!.....

Well, bro zinedine,

Funny that you've ask how it fares in high-speed... 'Cause I've just actually took it for a fast ride just now, bringing my wife back home so we can go to her friend's wedding in time... I've gone 120-130km/hr and it's still feels stable.

Hi,

the crash bar fully stainless steel is from Seng Kwang, can't remember the price - think is between $250 - $300. It takes about 3/4 day to fabricate to my spec. I told them my spec is - must not be wider than the handle bars' width, yet it must protect the handle bar & the front/rear signal lights. Why smaller width? Coz when bike falls, the bike will lie at an angle from the wheel base. So a smaller width can still protect the handles' end pt. A smaller width also will allow unobstructed squeezing between traffic also.

I have seen riders falling & legs sandwiched by the hot engine - very very painful.

I think my extended crash bar is useful to prevent this. It also protects bike's everything except the exhaust pipe on the right.

Hope this helps....

hmm definitely recognise ur bike. the carpark oso look familiar - harbourfront?

i park almost next to a fazer (same charcoal color) everyday at office as well but hmm nv really compare the size

anyway glad that u r ok and thk goodness ur bike has crash bar.

yup its harbourfront alright ! :D

 Anyone here done engine tuning recently ? Can recommend?

I suspect my tuning is not optimised from first day - coz there seem to be a slight buildup of carbon soot in my exhaust pipe opening (even though there is no black smoke). My mileage now is only 7000+km

I need to find a workshop that have those high tech tuning machine - to verify & ensure the tuning is optimised - coz a optimised tuning will result in maximum power, better fuel efficiency & lower consumption and most important - reduced carbon soot buildup in the engine valve seats etc.

tt6 389 and GAOFAR, thanks for your inputs and recommendations about the GPS. Have been a little busy lately so did not log in.

Wah Gaofar, looks like your boldor ready for serious cross country cruise.

thks for the pm & pics bro Gaofar, I'll definitely go down to check out the shop.

I think yr bike pics look great with the box - its also making me drool thinking of the benefits of extra storage, fall protection & bigger looks.

Hi bro Khoo,

Can kindly advise where's the best place to see the hepco and becker brand side panniers?

Miust compare with the Givi ones before deciding. Thanks in advance.

Hmm... I didn't know motoworld got stock hepco & becker panniers also. Maybe I didnt look close enough.

Anyway I found the brand distributor in Singapore: Hepco & Becker

Its located in nearby motoworld in paya ubi. Theres a site map in the website.

TT6389,

Wah! Yr engine guard looks swee! :lovestruck:

i hope it costs under $250-300.

Would like to get it fixed too. :thumb:

But if fix another set at the back, do u think that would be an overkill?

Gaofar,

i m glad that it is stable at such speed, cos i plan to fix Wingrack as well,

and ride 2-up. :thumb:

As the bike is still not in my hands yet, i wouldn't want to count the chicken

before the eggs hatch.

Btw, at 130km/h, how do you find the windblast to your chest?

Bearable?

i wonder whether if there's a need to fix a higher front shield...

Because of him the lame walked briskly,

And the songless through him burst into melody.

Fix another set at the back? In terms of aesthetic improvement ? I don't think so. I have seen CB400s with single rear protection for the exhaust pipe in the ang mo kio bike training school. Personally, I feel it doesn't improve the looks - only adding protection for the right rear exhaust pipe...if that's what you want.

Personally I think the front extended crash bars is sufficient to make the bike look bigger , not to mention it gives more than enough protection for the fairing, engine and handle bars during a fall. Also protect your legs from being crashed by the hot engine.

I am planning to fix up Givi wingrack and 3 boxes.

I wonder will the rear end crash bar helps, should i have a fall?

good stuff... i wanted something like that too... cos the regular crash bars that you get outside only protects the engine... not the riders' legs...

i think it will be a good item to get :thumb:

I suggest you fix up the 2 side boxes first before considering the rear crash bar. If you do the rear crash bar first - it might obstruct the installation of the side boxes.

This afternoon went to chiap lee to see their givi side boxes, then saw a S4 with 2 small cute side box parked outside. Then went LAB to ask - only $60 for a pair plus installation. Incredibly cheap but a little too small for me....:cheeky:
