Gaofar: I will be there till late. Several peeps are interested in seeing Guru's products, especially the cashcard reminder and the voltmeter. Yes mine is the digital but special order, though the one I currently have is what he would install for you if you just buy from him without any modification. Yes the digital one is smaller (at least I think so, I have been shown an analog one from him that looked like it was the same size as the digital), but you can also get a digital one for 12 bucks somewhere, that looks nicer. I prefer the digital though. It comes out with a "LO" whenever my battery decides to be stubborn.

Lass: Depends. Obviously Tim's side boxes would give him a lot of leeway, since they are small, and he would only have to worry about the front. The point with squeezing with boxes is that even if you know your boxes will clear (being of the same width as your mirrors), they might end up not clearing because they are, after all, behind you. The instant split second that your mirrors pass between two cars, anything can happen to make them squeeze you in (like not seeing you because they never checked their blind spots and was already going to squeeze near the other car or something) and thus your side boxes will get hit. Traffic and the way people drive (thus affecting the free space between cars) is also another factor you have to take into account. But yes, overall, with side boxes, it is more difficult to squeeze in between traffic.

Hi there Lass,

Well, if you compare between when I had no boxes on the side at all versus now with the side-boxes on, of course it's a bit more difficult to move in-between traffic... Don't get me wrong that I'm being reckless and squeeze any-o-how, but whenever traffic permits I'll just get by without much of a problem.

Initially it took me some time to get used to the "new-found-awareness" that I now have 2 boxes on the sides, but after a while I can actually still go-in-between quite comfortably... hee...

bro panther, think I'll go and hunt for small digital volt-meter then...

 hello bro Gaofar:-

Can consider these alternatives - Its 3 in 1 function from Looi's Motor - but not water proof, used inside car only. But someone installed on his bike anyway, so far so good. Cost about $60. Must call them before going.

This one is definitely waterproof. $39 from "Bikes & Scooters" at Upper Serangoon Rd. Call them before going also.

Hellzone: Hardly see your posting in this thread , although you are the originator :cheeky:

There are many secret Durians places in Singapore, the one in SLE is best . Because durians usually fall at night, so going there early morning is best. My bro picked 6 small but solid Kampung durians from that place, cause he has rear & side boxes on his bike . Problem is durian hunters must have rear box to store the durians, but not many Boldorians or S4 riders like to have boxes.

Gaofar: It really is small, through Guru. 40 bucks. I would recommend his.

Another sharing of my Singapore "exploration" , hope no boldorians will get bored.

Been reading about this Seletar Yishun Dam threads in the SBF, but don't know where. Heard it is a favourite hangout areas for bikers & flashy cars at night.

So after completing the Durian Hunt on last Sat, I went to search for this Yishun/Seletar Dam. I found that from the SLE to TPE, you can go by first TPE exit to Jalan Kayu, then follow signage heading towards Seletar country club , which then leads to this very scenic place.

True enough, I saw a group of scramblers & the riders all ladies, chatting by the road side.

I think its a real good spot for relaxation & perhaps fishing.

http://s70.photobucket.com/albums/i86/tt63...mgAnch=imgAnch2

On the way out of the dam, in Yishun St 1 or something, I found a quiet & isolated fishing spot along a river. The river is next to a dead end road leading to a Satellite station facilities own by Telecom or something. Nobody goes there unless they have their own transport. It was too dark, otherwise I would have taken video of this nice scenic fishing spot.

Cheers everyone,

Yishun Dam has always been known as a favorite haunt for bikers. I see people asking to go there all the time. Especially for the northern and central areas. And Tim, you still have not answered me! :(

How about meet up at 7.00pm at Dr.Guru place's void deck. Then we'll go for dinner nearby. By the time finish dinner will be 7.45pm.

Think I 'll just tell him my requirements for the LEDs, and book a date to get it done.

I wonder any other boldorians want to join us? Its no harm to take a look - the LEDs can make the super boldor glows beautifully at night.

Ah dinner there, not too bad an idea indeed. Sure, I suppose that would be good, 7 PM at Guru's. By the way he is working at 898, adjacent block, same place, really.

I already told Lass about it, she can come late if she wants. I will see if any other of the modsters want to join us for dinner. Would be good.

:thumb: I am sure it will be nicer than plain single color. But be careful - not too colorful also. 2 colors & max 3 will be good. Just my suggestion.

short trip in Singapore? Unless I get tip off got secret durian trail somewhere else.

I believe Lim Chu kang (Amah Keng) area should have plenty of abandoned durian plantations. But not sure whether it is restricted army land now. There's a certain thrill when you go durian hunting on bike - similar to treasure hunting ; quite exciting.

Part of it is, and it is very dangerous there, so I will exercise extreme caution for anyone who goes there, because the roads are not maintained, and it is so creepy, as well as having one extremely notorious blind spot in which you never know when a huge truck might suddenly come round. This one is on the way to Sungei Gedung camp.

Hey bro tt6389,

Do you do "GeoCache" with your Garmin GPS? You know that Garmin company introduced a system of treasure hunts all over the world, including Singapore... These "caches" or treasures are done by ordinary people like you and me for others to find... Just that when you hid it, you log it the GeoCache site to tell people to come and find it...

Anyway, anyone would be going to the "Dam" there tonight? I know it's a bit late and informal... Sort of impromptu... :p I'll be keeping watch on this site to see got any replies or not...

Geocache? sounds interesting, will take a look at the website.

Btw, give the Dam a miss, see the Esplanade Firework display better, kekeke :-

Today 's firework at 9pm , I missed it. Friday & Sat 9pm, there'll be firework at

http://www.unusual.com.sg/firing_point3.jpg

I am wondering which location in the map I can park my bike (on pavements probably) & admire the firework strategically. There's a awesome feeling when you have a closeup viewing of spectacular fireworks.

I think this Saturday nite will be ideal time to go - less traffic downtown.
