Just got PM from Alan_see. The guy with BMW tourer bike who join us to Si Wan Tao last trip, bought the Garmin 60csx. He ask me to give him demo & my pirated garmin Europe, Australia & World maps CDrom to load into his GPS. He bringing his laptop for the transfer. I planning to meet him next Tuesday 7pm at McDonald in St Albert park after work. If you interested , can join.

I will demonstrate how to use it to find way to the SBF favourite Taman U A&W , Kulai Yoon Lai Tim Sum restaurant, Pulai Waterfall etc etc

1 DAY EXPLORATION TRIP 7TH OCTOBER SATURDAY - PULAI WATERFALL & KUKUP & PONTIAN TRIP & BATU PAHAT

We'll meet at GP Esso at 8am. Target to return to Spore before 8pm.

1. Pulai Waterfall-->

2. Kukup -->

Travel along western coastal roads up to Batu Pahat. Then return by NS Highway to Singapore.

3. Pontian Kechil -->

4. Pontian --->

5. Batu Pahat Wet World -->

We'll have breakfast in Pulai town somewhere first, before going to the waterfall. If we have time, we'll also visit the Batu Pahat hotspring (but chances very slim coz programs are packed). I think the star attractions are the Pulai Waterfall & the Batu Pahat Wet World. Must spend more time there.

We'll begin our return journey at bout 5pm back to Spore. We can also go to that scenic Permas Jaya Makan place for nasi lemak dinner. Unless you people prefer to try out the SBF 's favourite Taman U A&W or the West Side thread's Yoon Lai Tim Sum in Kulai.

Travel speed on Western coastal roads towards the north should be 80-100km/hr. But the return journey from Batu Pahat to Spore by NSHighway is probably 140 km/hr.

Names (Confirmed):

1. tt6389 (Tim - 94882527)

2. R6ex (Eddie - 97968120)

Names (90% confirmed):

1. Ones_co (One of friend on haya coming along)

2. Panther

3. K3

4. pktan ( he PM me)

Pauche, R6ex, Jus101 & Alan_see:

All are welcome, I will copy all the pirate Garmin CDroms (Europe, Australia & World) into 1 DVDrom for those who comes. I think I counted 4 ppl so far. I'll combine the CDs into 1 DVDrom, and give each person 1 dvd. If you want to know details of the Garmin CDrom maps, you can check at the Garmin website, they selling it.

There are 2 ways to load the above maps into your Garmin GPS. First way is by installing those CDroms above, then use Mapsource software (given with the Garmin GPS) to transfer them over to the GPS.

The second way is only if your GPS has expansion memory slot, you remove the memory card, put into a USB card microSD or SD card reader, simply copy the *.img map files into the SD memory card directly. Both ways work perfectly for me. All the Europe, Australia & World maps are in *.img format. The total memory is about 800mb.

...............................

Likewise for PDA GPS's Garmin Que, I believe it works the same. The *.img files can be transfer to a folder within the PDA's memory card. Then use Garmin Que to browse/search for those files. Once you open them, the basemaps of Australia, Europe will be updated within the PDA.

Well, it might sound complicated when you read the written procedure , but when you see a live 20 mins demo - everything is actually so simple & easy. Will save you many hours of figuring things out alone by yourself.

Tomorrow at McDonald, I will show you how to plot the route on the laptop for this coming trip to Pulai Waterfall, kukup, pontian & Batu Pahat Wet world , then download the route back into the GPS. Then starts the GPS 's auto-routing function to guide you there automatically.
