A short afternoon trip this saturday 18th Nov.

Programme :

12.30pm lunch Meet at Gelang Petah Esso.

1pm we'll be having lunch in Kulai.

After which we'll go to Pulai Waterfall /reservoir . Those who wants to swim, please bring yr gears, but I not swimming. I will look after the things. After swimming, we'll be circling the Pulai mountain to search for a road or track into the reservoir (owned by Spore PUB).

Then after that , we'll go for dinner at Permas Jaya Nasi lemak. But if rain forecast is bad, we'll eat dinner in Kulai or maybe Taman U A&W. (My PDA phone can use GPRS to access the malaysian weather forecast website).

After 6pm, we'll visit the pasar malam at GPS coordinates N1 29.930 E103 40.834

Those who wants to buy stuffs there - be assured they're much cheaper than jb shopping centers.

Pulai Waterfall Afternoon Trip on 18th Nov 2006

 

Yesterday 3 guys & 1 pretty lady went for the Pulai Waterfall/ reservoir trip. First we had lunch at Kulai. So many choices of food there & wasn't too sure what to eat. Then we saw this shop with the sign "Authentic Hainanese Beef Noodle". So we sat down & ordered their shop specialty, Boy, it was really good. Please forgive me , I was too engrossed eating the noodles that I forgot to take pictures of it.

But nevertheless for those who own a GPS , coordinates are: N1 39.953 E103 35.490. Btw , its not just my opinion its good, all 3guys & 1 gal said so.

 

After the lunch, we ride down toward the Pulai Mountain which is pretty near to the Kulai town. We go thru the tunnel that goes under the NS Highway to reach the other side. Then we ride along the road which circles the Pulai Mountain - to look for the reservoirs (owned by Spore PUB). We also passed thru Pekan Nanas, a small but quaint & bustling town full of commercial activities. Very interesting experience here & the ride along the way there was a joy, almost trafficless & smooth. However, upon reaching one of the reservoir, we were then told its forbidden to enter. So we moved to the next reservoir, but found it was unimpressive. Conclusion here is forget about the reservoirs.

 

Next we proceed to the Pulai Waterfall. In the last trip , I did not climbed the upper tiers, but this time round , I make sure I personally climbed the upper tiers to have a close look.

 

It was awesome, better than what I saw in the pics. The pool & surrounding is almost magical. Looking at the curtain of water splashing down from a wide & tall rocks is something I only saw in movies. Wish I could post all pics in high resolution 6 megapixel here, but due to restrictions; I have to reluctantly resized them to 800x600.

 

PS. For those who intend to visit there themselves, do not lock yr helmets to the bikes. Someones ' helmet was stolen that day. Best day & time to visit is on Saturday & leave the place before 5.30pm. Because between 1.00pm to 5.30pm - there will many cars & bikes & people at the parking area; safer to park the bike.

idling speed is controlled by the carburettor.

Maybe during the time when you had faulty spark plug cable undetected, the mechanic adjusted the carburettor when he shouldn't? Especially the piston having the faulty plug cable - he may have reduced the fuel/air ratio entering that piston chamber.

Or maybe your carburettor is due for washing?

I am sure one of the past SBF thread peeps may have posted similar problems.

in that case, 9th dec saturday may be good. How about we confim the actual date by 4th Dec. Since you had been such a valuable & wonderful touring partner in view of the past trips experience, I feel its a great loss to go without you.

9th Dec sounds good but how about rest of them? can they make it as well? I too had a wonderful time with u guys, too bad I couldn't make last Sat.. Seeing those pics makes me sad

This time round i went to the end of the big fall.... under the big fall the pressure of the water very strong...

we didn't go to the pasar malam, coz a bit late after sending that lady back. But we did circle within Taman Johore Jaya & noticed its full of makans places & shops & night life.

Hard to suit everybody for the Malacca trip. Many people prefer to commit on the last week, some commit on the last day. Maybe on the 5th Dec, we'll see how many people can commit on 9th Dec sat & confirm it.

 

I am sure many bikers dun want miss the Mt Ophir waterfall. The bikes also can conveniently parked in front of the Mt Ophir 5 star resort, and waterfall only stone throw away.

 

Also the Gadek Hotspring in Malacca is rated 5 star in the website, as compared to the 2 star batu pahat hotspring we went earlier.

thks tim. dun think e mechanic did anything to it but just replace the spark plug and e faulty cable tat's all. he wouldn't do anything he wouldn't tell us cos we know him v well. anyway, let's see how it goes but am riding e blade now cos just wash e boldor and i always bring e rain with a wash hehe now it's all canvass up
