my younger brother told me about 300m up from the base of mt ophir has got a spectacular waterfall. Many people swim there. Looks like its a pretty short climb only. Might be possible to visit the waterfall first , then if we climb down before 12 pm , we can proceed to the hotspring in malacca.

Guys, just sharing a minor accident which I had few days back...

 

Was riding along guillemard road when I reached a junction infront of the singapore badmintion association. As usual, the cars stopped upon hitting the red light. I made my way up to position my bike in front, in between the extreme left (left turn only) and centre lane (left turn and go straight). Just when I was moving off (straight ahead) as the light turned in my favour, the car on my right wanted to turn left!!! :giddy:

 

As you guys have expected, there was a accident of sorts. A minor knock on the right side of my bike, more like a nudge as my bike wobbled upon impact but I managed to steady it straight as we were just moving off at slow speed. Lucky I didn't fall and damaged my bike, and the car just only have some minor scratches according to the owner. I parked at the junction in front and inspected my bike but couldn't find anything wrong and I suspected only knock the rear wheel.

 

After a discussion of sorts and exchanging of details, we decided if there needs to be any repairs done, we will settle via our respective insurance companies. But since in this case only superficial damages to our motor vehicles, I doubt there would be any claim. The other driver was level headed, so was I, despite being hit albeit bit dulan at first.

 

For this case, I concluded that both of us was partly at fault: Me for being in the middle of the 2 lanes that could turn left. (But I'm a biker!!! :sweat: ) Don't ask me squeeze then I buy bike for what??! haha... Him, on his part could check my signal whether I'm heading straight or turning left. So we settled this case amicably, with a handshake!! :thumb:

 

Lesson to be learnt in this accident:

 

If die die wanna squeeze,

 

1. Stay ahead of the car so that he can notice you more easily. (in my case, I was just beside him)

 

2. Squeeze in the middle of both lanes that CAN ONLY GO STRAIGHT.

I'm driving up on my own to meetup wif my ex-wife & 2 kids in bangkok. As for Lawrence, guess he might ride up solo as well.. is it Lawrence? :?

i noticed your mirror is skin wrapped with checker design. Where you install that thing? Is it they wrap with the selected plastic designs , then use hair dryer to heat it, and it shrink to fit perfectly?

yes maybe solo.... or with my cousin

 

i have 3 week week in dec.... so i can go any time i like

 

if with my cousin than have to see whetyher he got leave...

 

but now still not plan

 

jus feel like it than ride and go .... didi not have any plan ....

 

with my gps and go....

 

plus i just few week ago i got a thailand map from a guy in the forum

 

really helpful...

southern thailand - Hua Hin very scenic , koh samui , phuket so many beautiful places accessible by bikes.

 

Suggest borrow this travel book from national library "Lonely Planet on Thailand" , and plan a route & save into your GPS. :smile:
