think shisheng then king...heard he mention his spec 1 hit 390km be touch reserve.....never open vtec at all.....for mine i always open vtec....get abt 270km.....with yoshimura exhaust.....

1) the bike move when you clutch in

2) difficult to kick gear or clutch slippage

3) you whack and whack but the speed cannot make it

 

which shop u go?? sound expensive.. clutch plate at most $120

noted. erm i dun have any symthoms as stated. but when moving off that time, my bike like no power, need to mantain half clutch for awhile then let go fully. what does that show? i went to hkl to ask.. he say might be the metal pieces overheated. i know motorworld is 120. i asking for opinion lo. shld be go motorworld change.

hi can any s4 rider here give me some advise???

 

i am currently ridding a spec2.. The FC of my bike is 260km per tank. i seldom open vtec and i usually change gear at 4rpm. i had service my carb + tunning last week.

 

i am curious. is my FC normal? high FC? cause i got friends ridding spec1, they hit 300plus km before reserve. another spec3 can hit abt 330km before reserve.

 

advise?

is your tyre pressure at optimum level? The kind of route u usually travel? Mostly City or highway? They do make a difference in ur FC

ya.. what is the correct pressure. i normally front 235 back 275... plus minor abit.. i suspect some problem with my clutch plate...

what happened.

 

I jus took over this bike less then a month. milleage was poor as compare to other super4. they get 330km before reserve while i hit only 250km like that... their is spec1 and spec3.. So seek their advise went to motordiam to service. Wash carb, plus tunning, change eo, oil filter, sparkplug. ( jus took over, feel better to change also ) result still same. went back again today. Think not much help. I asked my mechanic about this problem i have, when ever i move off ( be it from traffic light or parking ), i often feel no power and abit jerky, need to mantain half clutch to gain the power. He then tried my bike, and told me that my clutch plate wear off alrd. quoted $150 +/- there to change the whole set. if metal plate over burn, then will be $200+/-... He told me this is one of the reason to my poor milleage.

 

advise? how do i know if my clutch is really wear out? lack of power when moving off? feel jerky? is the price quoted ok? comments???

Me too most of the time 280-290 b4 reserve,

 

best i got was 310-320 b4 reserve, that is if u dun wack lah... every 3-4 rpm change gear dun drag low gears...

do u hav main stand? if so mount it up n remove mainstand...clutch in n see if ur rear tyre move fast...if so..time to replace clutch plate.

 

spark plug,carb flood,tunning too rich,rain water contain...this r the incident tat may cause the probs

 

i suggest u go K&T..they'r specialise in s4

clutch slip ah v easy to feel......when the clutch slip u will feel it lor.......

More like what u will experience during clutch slippage......never pull clutch,open throttle,come to a point of time u feel engine revving but no more power from the engine fed to the wheel......rpm goes up v fast.....cos of clutch slippage,no power is fed to the rear wheel.....rpm goes up,speed remain same.......

 

To make it simplier....senario.......u wana drag gear 2......so u let go of clutch and just wack open the throttle...everything goes on fine until u feel something wrong.....suddenly u feel the power like being cut,cos of clutch slippage,the rpm still goes up but ur speed remain the same and u feel there's a power cut somewhere,but u still opening throttle.....

yes....might be ur clutch plates wear out liao thats why the power delivery is weak and cause bike to jerky...cos the clutch are try to transfer the power to the wheel but due to wear out liao......u need to open more throttle to overcome....since ur mechanic says so....u check the best price n best place to have them replace....riding a bike with problems just not fun at all....spend most of the time thinking of the problem and like that riding where got enjoyable?
