im used to hav one on my FZ6...better response, louder horn n brighter headlight..how i noe? well...last time whenever i rev..the brightness of the headlite will turn dimmer...but after i installed the stabilizer..

That's why la...i just left my bike for three days sia..i was planning to put the digital voltmeter and do some pilot light for the signal n neon..

zai, to clear some doubts, changing to stebel magnum horn will not affect your batt life. Ultimately depends on your usage, if you blast your horn for the entire journey, even container lorry batteries will die within one day. I've done a comparison of the whole stebel range, the one we are using(magnum 2) are in fact the loudest in terms of decibel(unit of measurement for sound). No issues on my bike, which has a much lower batt power, and probably the one of the best investment for bikes. A simple voltmeter would be good to monitor your batt life.

 

since haya already have pilot lights, changing to LED will in fact reduce overall power consumption, since power consumption of LEDs are in micro ampheres, or rather 0.2 to 0.5 watt, depending what type of LEDs you're using. That's a fraction of what a normal 3watt pole light bulb (most common) consumes, about 4 ampheres, assuming a 12 volt circuit. High powered LEDs are only up to 1watt, like Luxeon LEDs which are on the higher end of consumer level LEDs. Neons on the other hand, while much cheaper to replace, consume more power and have much shorter life, so in long terms, LEDs are a better choice. Take a walk in sim lim square (not tower) sometime, and you can see for yourself the large range of LED products they have nowadays(and much cheaper compare to getting them from bike shops)

 

As for HID, using the switch more often actually consumes more power as well, because everytime you switch on, a large amount of power from the ballast is required to power up the HID bulb, hence the "delay" in attaining full brightness. Try not to use the switch unnecessarily during rides, ie on and off once for a single journey. HID actually saves on power consumption, consuming about 35watts to give out equivalent brightness of xenon bulbs of more than 100watts, so no worries about keeping it on.

 

Comparatively, a single H4 super 4 bulb rates at about 55/65watt (low beam/high beam), and since there's no ballast, a switch is more desirable to save on batt life.

the only thing on the list "draining" the batt when bike is unused is the alarm. one possibility might be a faulty device or loose wiring causing the batt to drain while bike is off.

No lah...it stabelise the voltage so tat u wun face the same prob as before...eg.horn nt as loud as wat it shown on box.135db..too much of electric use coz ur sparkplug produce lesser power...etc
