haha...that one :sian: ley...n the batt cost 100+!!...i tot less than 100 :slapforehead:

Anyway, i tot of installing voltmeter straight to the batt and putting a switch to it...is it better? or must connect to the headlight or some wire near the headlight(i oso donno what n wheres that..hehe..i know my s4 installed at the headlight last time)?so now tot of trying other way round..is it advisable?

100+? think its ok liao...when i heard how much fz batt cost, i nearly :faint:

Actually just connect direct to batt will do, cos it will give you the voltage when all applications/accessories are installed. Put at headlamp only measure votage across the headlamp.

Anyway, i really dunno if HID is your main cause of draining your batt (I doubt so lah).

But just something to note. HID headlamp is high in efficiency. It's high output, doesnt neccessarry mean low input.

Anyway, maybe u can check with those who have install as well.

tempted to get hid and alarm...

Yeah!! :cheer: Get a scorpio! good for long range detection and got a miss called alert! n now comes with e RFID which is an auto-deactivate when u r near to the bike plus the wiring is not such a mess...hehe

y do u need switch at voltmeter??

if not, straight away connect to the battery, then it'll be ON all e way right??o_O if like that then tmrw bike cannot start liao :slapforehead:

I know that the white light is the one that consume batt but not HID and HID is much cooler than the normal yellow light (correct me if i'm wrong)..

For the batt nvm la...i think that day is the end of my batt life span already..i know batt can last for around 1 to 2 yrs..so that day nearly 1 yr already..so ok lor..wat to do...hehe

o_O ex battery.

tap it to the ignition or fuse. put a switch for the voltmeter also can but weird. think ur s4 voltmeter's wire is being tapped to the igniton wire also, if not those with a switch for headlight will off both headlight and voltmeter together.

Its not determine by the colour, unless u mean u wanna use flourescent light for headlight  Anyway, think dun make u mix up lah..Dun think HID drain so much power till flat batt unless u on switch but didnt on engine...

Since it's nearly 1 year no warranty? Aiya...batt change liao then change loh... at least it fail u when u are in sgp.

see how things goes bah..

but which one is accurate?coz if i remember correctly, there's one discussion in SBF saying that tapping at the headlight not accurate..so donno if its true or not..that's y i tot of connect it straight to e batt...

I thought when u start up the HID than its the time it will eat more battery but after that will be lesser than normal light. Unless u always on and off your HID or going very short distance.

For voltmeter, if connected to the battery and the bike is off, i think it should still be in a closed circuit, than it will drain the battery, if it is connected in such a way that there will be a open circuit, than it wont drain the battery. Thats y ppl connect it to the igniton, so when you off the bike, there will be an open circuit.

the voltage going through the whole bike should be the same right, only the resistor will be different, so it will still depend on which part of the headlight you are tapping.

voltmeters usually come with 2 sets of connectors, one set to measure, the other set to power the display. Best way to connect is connect the "measure" set to the batt, then the "display" set to your headlight or ignition, so that it will only turn on when the the bike is running. if you have a headlight switch installed, it would be better to connect to the ignition.

HID doesn't drain more battery when it starts up. The presence of the ballast basically steps up the frequency of the current to allow the bulb to function at higher efficiency, or in simple terms, higher output with the same input current, when u compare a HID bulb and halogen bulb. HIDs only consume 35W of power, while halogens consume on average 55W up to as high as 100W, depending on the bulb, but does not emit light as bright as HID. This is also why HID is cooler in terms of temperature, which also allows the bulbs to last longer.

small voltmeter

http://www.singaporebikes.com/forums/showthread.php?t=195186

hmm... took a look at the photos, think there's too many parts and wires for a simple voltmeter. buzzer is also not essential imho, since you will tend to look at your voltmeter reading every time u glance at your meter. and i think a substantial amount of the cost goes to the packaging and dealer. then again, each to its own

was at mak's place just now, noticed that ALL the bangalah waiters were MIA. Had a chat with Mr Mak himself, pretty nice guy, told me that he had to sack the whole lot of them, cuz they were not doing their jobs and actually tried to "form a union" to go against Mr Mak, despite his patience and efforts to counsel them for the past 1/2 year :slapforehead: so i guess it's good news for those who are fed up with the lousy service

oh yah, he also mentioned they're in the midst of setting up an system where the waiters can take orders with PDAs, so it'll be more efficient. cool...
