cos by right u exit s course and crank course with 2nd gear and enter slope with 2nd gear unless you need to stop or give way den u no choice but to move off in 1st gear. only then u can use the half clutch without worry.

Huh? .. must exit s and crank course in 2nd gear? But it is hard to control bike in 2nd gear without the engine "knocking" ...

What should i do now?

tester can notice gear changing sound for 2a bikes? damn

yes, the gear changing sound is quite obvious. usually ppl kick the wrong gear (i sometimes kick into neutral) when entering pylon course, s course or crank course..so we tend to react by kicking up to the correct 2nd gear and continue..but the tester alr noe cos he can hear the gear changing sound. me myself aso can hear it.

i used to kick down to 1st gear during exiting s and crank course but kana scolded cos u dun kick down gear unless u need to give way.

i agree that 2nd gear sometimes can result in knocking but this is so becos either too much foot brake is used or the throttle is too little or even closed. i once spent the whole sp session practicing on this concept..haha

If i use less footbrake or more throttle, i would result in wide turning.... I practice many times and realize half clutch in 1st gear work best for me....

How now if i cannot exit in 1st gear? Any advice? My TP in less than a week!

no worries bro. if i were you, i will just stick to my habit of doing all the exits using 1st gear cos regardless 2pt or 18pts still pass, its better to do something u are more confident in.

with that said, plse do chk with the instructors on ur queries again cos i may be wrong on the exact type of mistake tester would penalise.

cheers! my tp also in 1wk time..

From my experience, its definitely abit harder to balance on the plank on the tp day itself becos we are all nervous..so i recommend just go abit faster..even if less than 7sec..give it to them lo. at least better than i try to clock 7sec but end up dropping.

gud luck:thumb:

6 sec enough le :cheeky:

thanks

hahaha same same my tp's on the 4th tooooooo im scared i touch the cone for pylon :sian:

jia you :)

for me, when i turn out, i try not to straighten my bike, i.e. parallel to the kerb. that means before i turn, the bike is positioned at an angle already so i can dun have to slow down too much yet dun result in wide turning.

always remember to kick up to 2nd gear before entering Pylon,S Course, Crank Course. For ebrake go up to 3rd gear and 30km/h for 2B.

Pylon =

Focus on the braking before the white line after the narrow plank. Look at target of first pylon right side. Start of with biting point and accelerate to 2nd gear. Switch eye vision to left side of next pylon and swing your bike with your knee's. Do the same with the remaining two cones.

S Course =

Stay on the right side before entering. Try to start of slow and make ur entry in as wide as possible with kicking up to gear 2. Look at the half circle away and use ur knees to control the turning of the bike. Always look far and look at the right side before exiting. if there is car approaching of look like turning in. stop with front wheel above dotted line. check blind spot and move off left and check one more blind spot and stop with signal change and down to first gear before white line.

Crank course =

make sure ur signal is turned right. enter the course slowly giving u a wider angle to chagne direction. look towards the other direction and change ur signal. look at the right for vehicle and move to your postion and cancle signal before stopping. Do take note of the 3 bike limit for crank course.

for the plank.... alot of people have immediate failures...

check blind spot and rev engine till bike moves off slowly. go up the plank slowly and clutch in using footbrake. move body towards the front in order for better stability. look to the front about 2-3 metres and control bike with knees closed together on tank.

dont be so worried about ur 2b tp. if u can do it. u will. jus dont get immediate failures which is normally the case. got any questions do ask. as i was once a 2b tp taker myself and i know how u feel.

good day and good luck!

hmm 800 sgd is not bad for a private student compared to sch students who pay around 1.5k.

 I think its slightly above the average for being kiasu and taking a few more practice lessons..

hi... I am wondering roughly how long would it take for me to get my 2b license at bbdc...

3 months or less if you're fast. OTOT!

haha you said you paid a lot for your private.. I went BBDC and I was considered rather fast in my whole class 3 process and still spent about 1600++ and about 6months... Should have went private!

Thats quite a lot IMO for me.. :/

Luckily I didn't see a need to go school for this

PROVED ALL THE SCHOOL TAKERS, WRONG! :p

800 SGD is considered less to me le :cheeky:

Seriously, I was expecting like 300+ - 500 the most for me :(

tester can notice gear changing sound for 2a bikes? damn

Yup, till cl2 too, unless you know how to counter that.

yeah and try to get 2 rounds of warm up. most of the time you only can get 1 round as there are many people waiting.

usually the first few who ride the bike first get to go for 2nd round since the warm up time not up yet. those at the back usually one round.

All the best for those who are taking tp soon!

no la.. not all 90 will go together. u will hand the instructor ur PDL and IC and go out for warm up. lets say got 30 bikes available.. so the first 30 testees will go for warm up first and the 60 ppl will just queue up until the earlier testees finishes with 1 round of warm up..

tats y i say the testee that went for warm up earlier can queue up again to go for 2nd round. :thumb:

Dun worry! it's not about whether u are talented or not, it's about whether you are someone who gives up easily or full of determination.

just to share with you, i got a fren who doesnt noe who to ride bicycle but with perserverance, she got her 2b. and i got another fren who noes how to ride a bicycle but he gave up 2b after the first lesson. see the difference in attitude?:thumb:

Usually by about 11am, all testees would gather in a room where names would be called out. Most of the time, if your name is being called out, that means you had failed.

However, got one cheeky tester called out everyone in a detail to stand up, letting them to think they are failed but in the end announce only the 1st 2 person had failed.
